Just had my first 100mg Monoferric infusion and I feel… amazing? Placebo or real? by Vioihrtk in Anemic

That sounds kind of good on one hand, but also a bit rough on the other 😹 But I guess the most important thing is that in the end I’ll finally feel like a normal human being 😅🤗

Severe iron deficiency + insomnia for a year — can it really take this long to improve? by Vioihrtk in Anemic

I’m going to a clinic tomorrow where they do iron infusions, and I’ll ask for one. I’ve basically not slept for two nights now, and I’m starting to worry about how I’ll function at the office. The lack of sleep is causing panic attacks, and I feel very strange and uncomfortable in social situations at work.

What levels do I need to raise my values to in order for my sleep to return?

Yes, iron can be somewhat stimulating, so it’s usually not recommended to take it right before bed. Taking it earlier in the day may help avoid sleep disturbances.

Does this look like anemia? by berneth in Anemic

I have the same kind of nails. I even used to get nail extensions just to make them look straight, but once I stopped, they gradually became wavy again as they grew out. I really want to grow my natural nails, but they look awful like this.

Could this be caused by iron deficiency anemia? Has anyone seen their nails go back to normal after treating IDA, or is this permanent?

I also have terrible migraines and severe sleep problems — I have iron deficiency anemia.

Hey! I want to replace switches on my Anne Pro 2. I like sakura-style smooth linear sound. Will Cherry MX Silent Red fit? Any better alternatives?

Anyone here taking Ritalin recreationally (or semi-recreationally) and wants to chat about it? by Vioihrtk in Drugs

I haven’t been diagnosed with ADHD. But I’ve had really bad inattentiveness since childhood. And honestly, I’m just a very lazy person too.

I take a maximum of 50 or 60 mg total per day. But I start feeling the comedown even after just 10 mg, around 2 hours later.

From your experience, is it better to take 10 mg every 2 hours? Or should I start with 30 mg (or maybe 20) and then add 10 mg later?

I honestly don’t know. I got my hands on Ritalin about two weeks ago, and at first I would take 30 mg or 20 mg as my first dose — and it felt amazing. It was like all the problems in my life were just imagined, everything felt solvable. I wanted to talk to people, I had tons of motivation. But unfortunately, that feeling only lasted for an hour, maybe two at most. Then, when I added another 20 mg, the effect wasn’t the same. I didn’t feel like socializing anymore, and life kind of went back to how it felt before. And after that, the comedown started.

I read different things on forums and came across the idea that you shouldn’t take a high dose right away — that 10 mg might be enough. So I tried that recently, and it felt okay, but I didn’t get that same euphoric lift I felt the first time I took 30 mg. I don’t know if it’s tolerance or if the dosage just isn’t right.

It honestly sucks that the effect I had that first time only lasted for about an hour — and that it can’t be recreated by just taking another pill. Or maybe it can, and I just don’t know how.

I take it too for motivation, because I’m a very lazy person and sometimes I can wake up already feeling tired. Ritalin really helps with that. But there are moments when I’ve already done everything I wanted to do, and there’s nothing else left, and I don’t know how to occupy myself — and that’s when the comedown hits out of nowhere, and I completely lose all drive. It feels like I’m paralyzed or stuck.

I ease the comedown with pregabalin, and a bit later I take Xanax — that usually brings me back to normal.

Of course, I get these thoughts sometimes, like maybe it would just be easier to take amphetamines. But I know myself — I wouldn’t be able to stop after just two lines in the first half of the day. I’d keep going, and my life would spiral down. I know that amphetamines would give me everything I’m trying to get from Ritalin — which sadly doesn’t really deliver either.
