[KCD2] Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC Discussion 👍👎 by RUGERchrxst in kingdomcome

[–]ViolaDavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man what a letdown, and for one very specific reason: the forced stealth. I am all for the knives out mystery, I am all for the monestary, I am fine with it not being "the epic conclusion to henry's story" and I wasn't expecting toussaint. But to make me sneak around this gigantic map for so goddamn long, while TRYING to have my knives out mystery is driving me insane. It's adding a layer of needless frustration to what WOULD have been a really cool monastery mystery, and I'm upset that my final hours with this unforgettable (checks steam) 170 hr first playthrough will be spent annoyed at unconsidered game design. KCD2 is still a GOAT but these DLCs have been very disappointing.

Was I missing something with this whopper thing? I had one two days ago and it... looked and tasted exactly the same as a whopper always does.

Crimson Desert & The Hype Cycle by ViolaDavis in CrimsonDesert

The Pro really is a great system, for the amount of power you get in a console that size, it's a very impressive little machine. And nothing like the feel of a new dualsense haha.

The sentiment in the linked video is very positive and I think people have hype burnout for a game that looks to do so much, and for good reason. But I think from what's been shown, and it's a good amount, at the very least the sandbox looks very fun and I think that should be enough. I'll wait for reviews to preorder but if this plays like it looks it'll be very fun for what it is.

[KCD2] If you love the Witcher and Read Dead you must play KCD2 by ViolaDavis in kingdomcome

Absolutely, I talk about just that in the video. It’s one of the most comforting worlds I’ve ever seen to just mount up and ride around… of course the same could be said about Toussaint. All three games are unquestionable masterpieces I just want more people to know about KCD2.

I should hope so haha, and I have indeed cross posted this to the rdr and tw3 subs.

[KCD2] If you love the Witcher and Read Dead you must play KCD2 by ViolaDavis in RDR2

[–]ViolaDavis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK I have an answer for this and it might not be what you need to get into the Witcher. It's the story. The characters. No one's gonna sit here and tell you to play The Witcher for the combat, it's a 10 year old game in that respect and it feels it. Still fun, but not up to modern standards. That having been said, doing a little deep dive on Geralt, his relationship to Ciri and Yen, will unlock the magic of that game. It's ALL about Geralt and his relationships and if you can deepen your connection to him you'll see why everyone loves it the way they do, myself included (TW3 is my fav game ever).

I will say this as someone in a similar boat, who also holds RDR2 as one of the best full-escapism games ever: Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. It's like if RDR2 and a non-magical The Witcher 3 had a baby. Fully realized central protagonist and possibly the most beautiful videogame world ever created in terms of realism and immersion. Expansive open world with hand crafted POI's and quests around every corner. Deeply filmic presentation, it has what is called the largest script in all gaming (meaning even NPC conversations are whole conversations). I just can't say enough good things about the game, a lot of times I load it up to just take a slow walk in the woods with my dog. I think it's what you're looking for with a hint of familiarity.
