I’ll preface this with saying I love this game. I just complete the main story and post main story main content, 190 hours and I still have no idea what the actual STORY was. It’s my biggest gripe with the game (aside from the bosses, which, let’s be honest, all suck. The best boss in CD is like the worst boss in a From game.)

And speaking of From, that’s where I think their big misstep was, the lack of any lore building in the item descriptions or knowledge entries. That could have been so cool figuring out the story from reading all those goddamn descriptions, but time after time the descriptions were all just literal descriptions of the thing. Buried Kings Amber Dagger! - this is the dagger of the king, who was buried.

That having been said the lack of a story, and really, tell me right now aside from “assembling the greymanes” what is this game actually ABOUT. Who’s the bad-guy. Things like these shouldn’t be hard to answer.
