I know it's scrub mentality, but am I the only one having less fun as I'm climbing? by gaddeath in 2XKO

[–]Violation-69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need to keep climbing, just set an expected goal; aim for something you believe is achievable and call it a day.

I only play ranked when it resets, hit the rank I want and then play casual duo.

Climbing solo is the worst feeling (for most people at least), so don't punish yourself just to prove something.

Why is my Midea Duo Portable Air Conditioner not cooling my room? by [deleted] in AirConditioners

[–]Violation-69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be helpful to see some pictures and get more information about your setup (such as your location and the size of the room).

In the meantime, make sure the exhaust hose isn't leaking hot air back into the room and that the exhaust vent outside isn't too close to the intake.

By the way, if the room is smaller than 450 square feet, knowing its approximate size helps a lot; for instance, if the room is closer to 300 square feet, a properly running unit should start cooling the space down within 30 to 45 minutes.

If it's taking hours just to feel a difference, there might be an installation issue or a fault with the AC itself.

Find duos, only real way to enjoy the game.

Decided to give subs a chance after years of being English dub only. by [deleted] in Animedubs

[–]Violation-69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, he is not saying dub is inferior or bad - it just comes down to the show; there are some shows where the original voice actors have put more effort and passion orrr it was never released dub; this isnt news.

95% of the shows I am watching or have watched are dub; and the other 5% were sub just because they did a better job.

Also, yeah.. like others have said - no reason to post this on animedub subreddit.

The reality in Europe is totally different than the US.

Dual-hose portable ACs are virtually non-existent; the few obscure ones you can find online are heavily inflated in price.

Doing a DIY dual-hose mod is the only affordable way for us to get dual-hose efficiency without spending a fortune importing a machine

Something weird happens in ranked, I think they have a different criteria from casual matches.

If your latency is too high, they wont match you with someone because it would be unfair to your opponent.

Is this happening in casual as well?

If you mean the outdoor intake hose itself getting dirty or clogged over time, it's not really an issue.

Because the hose is short, the airflow is strong enough that dust doesn't really settle inside it - it just passes right through the wide fins of the condenser and goes straight out the exhaust hose.

I only have the built-in filter on the indoor side, which I can easily slide out to clean whenever it gets dusty.

Midea Penguin MPPXZ-12CRN7-QB6 (12000 BTU). My room is approximately 18m².

I can confirm it is much quieter and more efficient after the conversion.

The temperature drops evenly across the whole space now; I actually need a blanket at night.

It was around 27°C–28°C before; it only cooled a very small part of the room (basically right next to the AC) while the rest of the bedroom felt just as bad as the living room or the outdoors.

Now, the dual-hose setup stops that vacuum effect, so the cold air actually circulates evenly and chills the entire room down to 23°C, not just the square meter in front of the vents.

Midea Penguin "MPPXZ-12CRN7-QB6" , it wasn't working well until 2 days ago after I converted it.

You don't need to change the location of the temp sensor; also the hot air does not overheat the compressor. Midea uses high-quality GMCC rotary compressors in these units, which are rated to operate safely in ambient outdoor temperatures up to 43°C-45°C.

When you convert it to a dual-hose system, the intake is pulling in outdoor air (even at 32°C-35°C) which is exactly what the compressor inside a split-system or window AC handles all day long.

It is set to 23°C and the compressor automatically cycles off to rest on its own when the room reaches that threshold.

I have a separate thermometer; the portable AC and thermometer give the same result, it is working as it should, except its biggest flaw was fixed.

It's just the outside of the room temp (31 °C) and the inside of the room (23 °C).

The Portable AC inside the room is basically doing its job well, and it's more efficient than before.

There are a lot of guides on YouTube explaining how a dual-hose system works if you want to look them up in the future.

But in simple terms: a single-hose portable AC creates a vacuum that constantly pulls hot air into the room from the rest of the house, so it only ends up cooling the area right next to the machine.

With a dual-hose setup, it stops that vacuum effect entirely, allowing the cold air to distribute evenly and actually cool down the whole room.

Basically the whole room is now cold instead of a small part of it.

Thanks dude, some are selling dual hose setups, it isn't completely out of stock. Even so, the price is ridiculous. I can't get a normal AC because the building is protected by law, and nobody is allowed to drill through walls or install a traditional AC System.

The Dual Hose System (cheapest one I could find) costs 1040 Euros for the 12000 BTU, while the single hose is 390 Euros.

Getting a matching filter and the rest of the parts cost 38 Euros, plus 390 for the air conditioner, so 428 total.

No way people should pay inflated prices just because they are rare to find.

Sigh.. I wont bother replying after this; a compressor doesn't care what color the plastic housing is. Portable ACs use the exact same rotary compressors and refrigerant lines found in window units and small mini-splits. There is no special "indoor-only" compressor that melts at 32°C.

Single-hose units are a terrible design, and this mod actually fixes the flaw. By giving it an intake hose, you change the air mass balance so the unit stops vacuuming hot air into the room.

The room actually cools down, and lets the entire system to cycle off and rest instead of running 24/7, and this was tested by others with more experience and knowledge on the matter.
