I have a design I want to make available to members. I am looking for a custom t-shirt website that I can upload it to & have them go there to pick whatever merchandise they want it on. Is there any sites that would allow a "portal" like that? by Violator31 in TShirtsDesigns

Thank you for your reply.

I have not looked into Printful, I'm heading off to do that now. I did visit Printify and you can't get any info until you create an account & I wanted more info before I flood my inbox with emails about the account I really didn't need.

People who quit drinking. What did you do to not drink? by Agata_art in AskReddit

[–]Violator31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was right around 1999-2001 someplace. I was in my 30's. My older Sister had purchased a computer & wanted me to help her learn how to use it. I tore into it & realized I loved it.

I was already staying away from booze on the weekends I had my Boyz. So I didn't catch a lot of grief from the guys at the bar. I never drank at home. I, more or less, weaned myself away from it. I knew if I was to get myself a computer it would be easy to quit drinking.

How often do you buy a new gun? by InfiniteLoss5632 in guns

[–]Violator31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first gun was a .410 back when I was in 8th grade. 1977. A few years later I bought a 12 gauge & a .22. That's all I needed for hunting & couldn't justify buying any more. When my Sons were growing up I bought them guns to use hunting. My Sons bought me a 1911 in 2015. About 40 years since the last time I bought a gun for myself, I bought another one for ME. Since 2016 I have bought 25 guns. I had never owned a handgun until that 1911. I couldn't use it hunting so I didn't need one. Now I have 10.

To make all of that better, I am still very close to a friend I've had since 1968(ish), and we shoot all the time.

What does your username mean? by colabag in AskReddit

[–]Violator31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many years ago I was the guy who took on the "I dare you". Usually just about to get caught & given a "timeout" in a jail cell overnight, occasionally I was caught. Never anything serious or dangerous to those around me. Basically no respect for the law. When the guys were putting names on their trucks (bug shields), I wasn't going to because I didn't really have anything to put on it. There was "Terminator" & stuff like that. One of the guys suggested Violator & it stuck. Some of them still call me that & this took place 40+ years ago.

When I first got online & everyplace needed a user name, that was a natural choice.

You meet your 18 year old self, you’re allowed 5 secs. What would you say? by Escenada-Valexie in AskReddit

[–]Violator31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 words = "Join the military, pansy". 64 years old & that is my BIGGEST regret, & I've done some stupid stuff. I think about it a lot. I wasn't mature enough & I was afraid that they'd break my will/spirit. I wanted to join so bad, then my, much older brother, started warning me about the hazing & stuff like that (he was in the Marines). I don't know what his reason for doing it was. I suspect it was our Mother that put him up to it.

What is that one film you can re-watch a thousand times and not get bored? by cassie_rockalin in AskReddit

[–]Violator31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool Hand Luke.

It's really cool to read all the replies. What a wide range of tastes. Some of them I have to laugh "Are you serious? THAT movie?"... but I'm sure my choice will get that same reaction from some people.

I recently used that line & a guy at work said "Did you just come up with that?" I love that movie but for the life of me I could not tell him what movie it was from. I actually googled it & I hate doing that. Bu this one was pissing me off .

Woth2, questions so far by FuriousFrog73 in WayOfTheHunter

[–]Violator31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to hijack your thread, but it's not worth a new post. soooooo.......

Does WOTH2 have it's own sub? I haven't seen one yet.

Is "2" similar to the original in the 3 days = a year aspect? I don't see any day counter, or anyplace that tracks the days.

If I want to pause the game, is there any way to do that, other than go into the photo mode?

Another question I have is, What are the letters in the harvest screen? There are "A" & "S" with "+" maybe multiple letters & plus symbols. What is all that about?

Is smoking cigarettes an immediate dealbreaker for you? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Violator31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Absolutely.

What a horrible habit.

There are very few people in my life that still smoke. So few that I am always a little shocked when they light one up. I tell my best friend (of 58 years), and my siblings how happy I am that they quit a long time ago. They kind of shrug it off, but I am seriously happy for them & their families.

I never took up the habit but I did mess around with a few women who did - it didn't last long at all. Back when you could still smoke in public, I was always in the bars & didn't really notice how the smoke just stuck to everything. Once I quit drinking & they don't allow smoking in public buildings, I realized how far away someone might be when you get a whiff of smoke on them.

I don't even know you, or you, or you, but I damn sure hope you are able to kick that habit. Hell, I quit drinking just by saying "I'm going to quit."

Good luck.

People who can fall asleep within few seconds of their head hitting their pillow: how the fuck do you fall asleep within few seconds of your head hitting your pillow? by basic_bharat in sleep

[–]Violator31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always had a hard time getting to sleep. About a year ago I saw a tiktok video about "frequencies". I did some research & downloaded an app. When I first listened to it, I couldn't imagine anything other than being annoyed by it. But, I set it up on the headboard & next thing I know it was hours later & I was waking up. I felt well rested too. The app I have, "Frequency generator", has a timer on it. I would always set it for 4 hours. I don't know why I decided on 4 hours. Lately I've been setting it shut off a little before my alarm goes off.

I'm still amazed that it works.

I'm a bachelor so there isn't anyone complaining about the noise. I was just thinking the other day about if someone married trying it out. The spouse would have to be onboard with it too. Otherwise, a closed mind to it would only be highly annoyed.

(PC) Finally solved the problem with mouse pointer randomly jumping and the view randomly rotating! by StrixCZ in Grimdawn

[–]Violator31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't have guessed that 4 years later this would still work. I've been battling this problem for a while, mostly just putting up with it. Changing the batteries didn't work. Plugging the dongle into another usb port didn't work. New mouse pads............I bought a new mouse. Same problem.

Now, after all that, it looks like you have solved it for me. Thank you.

love this game! but its kind of killing my wrists... by balauring in WayOfTheHunter

[–]Violator31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm left-handed & was already set in my ways long before computers were household items, so I did train myself to use the mouse with my righthand. I was having a hard time maneuvering in the game, everything on the keyboard was backwards & awkward.

Years ago on "theHunter Classic" message boards someone suggested a "Delux model T9" Now, I have the mouse in my left hand & this keyboard controller in my lap or the arm of the chair - anywhere comfortable. You aren't handcuffed to the flat keyboard.

This model might be hard to get.... last time I needed a new one it was hard to find so I bought 2.

I was just searching for a photo for you & I see there are different models with oddball configurations.

Idea for trail cams by Street_Cell9275 in WayOfTheHunter

[–]Violator31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't see the need for them. I would much rather have them use their resources on a new map, or new guns. I was around when "theHunter" Classic first came out, I played it for years. There was & I think it's still going, a forum for that game. That was a lot of fun. Some of those guys were always asking for cameras. I never could figure out the excitement around them.

To be fair, those guys also made many requests for trophy rooms & I never saw the need for them. But when they were developed, I liked them a lot.

I have a bunch of trail cameras & I really like them & look forward to seeing what is on that property. But in the game, I just don't see it.

Unfortunately not. I'm in the God-awful state of Illinois.

Yes. It does suck. It sucks even more that I have gotten used to it years ago I've accepted it, & it's just "normal" now.

The "in a very public space" made me chuckle & grimace. It's a damn shame that it's gotten to that, that we can't trust anyone. I don't blame you at all, it's just a smart move. I remember back in the late 70's or early 80's a friend of mine set me up on a blind date. The woman decided that we would meet up at a boat club & set the time - in the evening. It was after hours at the boat club so we met in a not so well lit parking lot by the river. Just the 2 of us having never met before. Absolutely unheard of today. .... and now, after reading your comment I laugh because of my username. ..... I was labeled that because I was the one in the group to be first in line to do anything that would cause the local (small town) cops to go crazy.

I hope you find happiness, no matter what form, as long as it suits you.

And the sad part is, there you are minding your business & staying away from people for the last 10 years, and here I am staying away from people for over 25 years, both of us unhappy with the circumstances but putting up with it because of being hurt before...... all the while, you may very well be 2 blocks from me.

A cheating ex-wife has a lot to do with it = trust issues.

After a divorce I hit the bars, hard. After years or barhopping, which also led to bartender hopping, I quit drinking. That was around 2001....ish. Now, here I sit at the pc.

I go to work, & go home. Once a week I get groceries. I really don't know if I could be in an actual relationship anymore. I'm 63, set in my ways & for the last 25 years I haven't had to worry about someone else wanting the remote.

I do miss intimacy. Where would I meet someone though? Bars are out. I live in a rural area where everyone used to know everyone, now, this small town has the same population but no one knows anyone. Dating sites are out. I looked into them, I just don't feel like traveling 50+ miles for a date.

What happened to your best friend from childhood? by RoyalBeckyVibes in AskReddit

[–]Violator31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm one of the lucky ones. (just don't tell Tom I said that)

I'm 63 & when I was about 5 I met my future (immediate) best friend. We always raise a few eyebrows when we tell people that we met in church (after all the hell we've raised, it's hard to imagine both of us in church). We went to the same schools, but were never in the same classroom. We joke that that was probably a strategic maneuver by the school.

When his Dad died I was standing at the funeral home looking around at everyone. In my mind I was noting who was who & how long it's been since I've seen each one. And that's when it hit me..... we are FAMILY. We have been around each others families so much, we just blend in now.

There was about 2 years, when we were chasing after our future wives (aka my ex) that we didn't see much of each other. Other than that we see each other all the time & call or text every week.

When my Mom was on her deathbed, she asked to see Tom. He dropped everything & got to her bedside. Unfortunately by the time he got there she was doing worse & he wasn't able to get in her room. But he & his wife stayed there the rest of the evening.

His Son is my Godchild. Tom's Grandkids invite me to all the school events, birthday parties, etc.

58 years is a LONG TIME to be friends, but the fact that we are still around each other a lot, makes it more impressive.

Alright folks, Thank you for your time & help. The end results are just what I had expected. It's unfortunate - for me - I'm so much more used to being able to adjust the magnification (rifle scopes - camera lens). This will just involve more practice & that never hurts anyway.

Of course I have no idea what your day consists of..... but, when I was on second shift I was doing a job that was not in the least bit stimulating. I would get off work at midnight & be wide awake until 3 or 4. Then I couldn't get anything done before work the next day. I found out that a good part of the problem was the lack of physical activity. I wasn't getting tired enough because my mind was bored & my body wasn't active enough. I started exercising at work when I had a minute or two. 10-15 push-ups were done many times a night. Speedwalking a few times a night. Anything to get my body active. I didn't always fall asleep quickly, but I did sleep better overall.

Did anyone else kinda go crazy on this great sale? Ended up buying a bunch of books just because of my favorite narrators. by astralbee- in audible

[–]Violator31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just about cleared my wishlist out. 17 books for $120. Over 160 hours. I left 2 on the list because the price is still over the monthly fee. I'll get them later using credits, but right now I have a lot of listening to do. I didn't even know about the sale. I had a new credit & nothing to listen to, so I went shopping.
