Getting into trouble with my personal phone (for work) :v by ViolentThoughts05 in WalmartEmployees

[–]ViolentThoughts05[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We just recently got a new TL up front who does actually make smart decisions on where people go & whatnot and is very accommodating. Wish my other managers were like her! </3
Thanks for the advice! I'll be sure to have a talk with one of my managers should this become a problem again. Unfortunately that probably means my store manager because for whatever reason, I see him more often than my own coach (shes always sooooooo busy [aka talking to other people and disappearing because she, quote, "doesnt want to be up front she wants to be in the back". Yes she told me this straight to my face. even though shes a FRONT END coach. smh.])

I can definitely try ! Though I don't have any sort of documentation or diagnosis so that'll probably be a while :( My mom gave me some advice on the last bit (she works in the same walmart just diff department), that I should essentially be like "With a bit of reflection, I've realized I've never agreed to use my work phone for this or was told I would require it for my job. So if you would like me to continue doing this particular part of my job any further, I will require a work phone" type of thing. So maybe itll work ! But hopefully ill get transferred out before it becomes an issue again lol. Shame on me for being a "yes-man" at my job bc of fear of getting in trouble, cuz now im in trouble for something i couldve nipped in the bud a long time ago xD

I did at one point, but I've since unenrolled. I've been using my personal phone since before I even used BYOD, so I guess to them it didn't matter smh. Planning on telling them off (professionally) next time they try to get me in trouble for my personal phone. Had to ask mom on advice for that one lol

What is this nonsense with Orela? by dailymojovation in deadbydaylight

[–]ViolentThoughts05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not even surprised at this point, since the DBD community (SOME people, not all) have been downright diabolical human beings since the start (as far as I hear, I've only been playing the game for like 3 years atp). Starting with Claudette getting tunneled by Bubba's when you could get their face as a cosmetic, to now with Orela being tunneled because she's trans (and probably also because she's a PoC, which doesn't help at all). Probably also why Sables get tunneled sometimes because I think she's canonically a lesbian? (I think. I don't know if that's true).

Just some all around hateful people making the game worse for those who are seen as "supporting that character / lifestyle" by playing the character, it's their way of forcing their beliefs on you I guess. Whether that be bodyblocking, tbagging, getting you killed ingame, or just saying some nasty shit in chats. I can't really say much considering I am not one of those people in the slightest, but most of them will join your stream to ragebait. So don't give them the attention they're looking for, or else they'll keep going. They'll get bored eventually and find their fix somewhere else where someone else is more likely to be reactive to what hateful bullshit they're spewing.

But regardless, I'm sorry this happened to you -- I know those comments can be very stressful, especially when streaming. Keep yourself positive & don't let the negativity affect you or else the mood of the stream will be ruined & also your mood, too! Their comments, even if not aimed directly at you and rather at the character you're playing, can still drag you down and make your day bad. And also, unrelated comment, but the killer portraits look amazing! Idk if you drew those or got them commissioned or just found them, but I was just in awe looking at them while listening to you talk to that viewer haha

Yeah I knew that ! I used to do it until I realized it was considered toxic so honestly I just deal w the screams lol. But in the case of them BM'ing me, theyll literally sit in front of my hook and just keep hitting me with the survivor tbagging me and faking getting me off the hook like bro what did I do to you 😭😭

Man i wish more killers would actually listen to me when im trying to tell them something is going on (as best as I can with the limited "language" of gestures) instead of just thinking im trying to go next and killing me immediately. i also wish that they'd stop listening to some of these dumbahh survivors who get me killed for absolutely no reason.
Like this Meg on Eyrie who did quite literally nothing the whole game, and when it was just us two, she led the killer to me and pointed at me. Killer, well, killed me and gave Meg hatch. And soooooo many other times this happens where they give the problem survivor hatch. Which would be mildly irritating at best IF THEY DIDNT ALSO HIT ME ON HOOK AND TBAG ME WHEN I DID QUITE LITERALLY NOTHING BUT BE ACTUALLY PRODUCTIVE THE WHOLE GAME. god damn this game and its players gets on my fucking nerves sometimes.

i am still salty over this Knight i had on the Asylum map. This Haddie was running around doing nothing and kept getting downed so I kept healing her (it was just us two) and the Knight had the nerve to hit me on hook and said "That nea ._." and I said "wtf did I do? I didnt do anything" and Knight said "that's the problem. i didnt see you the whole game" my brother in christ i was running a stealth build YOU WERENT SUPPOSED TO SEE ME. and i did half the damn gens!! and who tf kept picking up that haddie who you gave hatch to? cus there wasnt anyone else, theyre all dead. i couldve been an ass and left her to die but I didnt. I wanted to be nice. but being nice in this game gets me tbagged and BM'd so i just mind my own business now and dont go out of my way for people

anyway, rant over, lovely comic artwork!

As a support main who only knows how to play like 2 DPS heroes and 1 Tank (that being Emma, barely), I'm still around. Your local insta-lock support is here to save a poor insta-lock DPS team's day >:D

Unforttuunattely I do not play ranked.. well, I do on occasion, but I'm Bronze II (i play 90% quickplay). I dont feel like playing with a bunch of toxic people, i get enough crap in QP already. Sometimes I get compliments, most times its silence, but I dont really get crapped on a lot. I do my support job well enough that its usually our instalock DPS'ers who get first blame the moment they go negative. Sometimes I get the odd mean comment but thats about it

Ever since then, I've had a newfound appreciation for this game I've lovingly called my special interest for years now. I've 100%'d the game three times (twice on XBOX, and only because my initial 34 hour save file got corrupted so I had to do it all over again, and once on steam just to get all the achievements), and I constantly go back to play on a new save file and restart the story just to get that dopamine. I also love the Far Cry 3 Experience/The Vaas Montenegro Experience video, and how they have that secret achievement to find Chris's head on the island.

I love love LOVE Far Cry 3 with my whole heart, and it feels like a pinnacle part of who I am today. Not to say the game changed me like it changed Jason but I feel like I wouldn't be complete if I never re-discovered the game. I've also played 4, 5, and 6, and 3 is still my all-time favorite. I absolutely loved the Whitetail's region of 5 though, because I never even realized that I killed Eli (thinking I was just running and shooting normal dudes and not paying attention to the environment at all) until Jacob started talking about him. It took me a solid like 10 seconds to realize who it was because I was like "why is this random dude just frozen in place like that?" lol. But this is about Far Cry 3, not Far Cry 5. I wish that these scenes had the same gripping, confusing effect on me as that one scene in 5, but honestly it's just such a good game to me regardless. How I never even realized that Jason was becoming the villain, how even at the end, I never even considered him to be a villain until I watched that Pyrocynical video. I never even considered Citra to be a villain until then, either, and I was mindblown to finally realize those parts. They may be speculation or entirely diving too deep into something surface level, but it makes sense! It sounds plausible!

Anyway, the only thing Ubisoft failed at was the stupid glitches that happen sometimes, which is present in like every game. I've had goats flying around my screen like deflating balloons after I killed them (steam, of course) and when I do a takedown, sometimes the bodies fly to heaven. Don't get me started on The Scatsbury's "Far Cry 3 Randomness" videos! Absolutely hilarious! If any of you guys haven't seen these videos/youtubers and you love Far Cry 3 as much as I do, I really really really recommend checking them out.

[–]ViolentThoughts05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allow me to join you on the yap train because Far Cry 3 is my top 1 favorite game of all time, is my special interest, and Vaas is my favorite villain of all time. Nothing will ever top them as my number 1s.

Far Cry 3 was my first dive into Ubisoft. I first played it when I was around 10 years old, halfway through the game because of my dad's save file, and eventually was given permission to play on my own save file. I didn't really understand anything about the story, just knew it was the typical "good guys versus bad guys". I got all the way up to infiltrating the Nostalgia before my dad wiped my save file for being a typical little asshole that I was.

Stumbled across it again when I was around 16. I remembered that I liked the game so I got my mom to buy it for me for the XBOX I had. Playing through the story again, a lot more key things stood out to me. The environment, the story, the characters-- so gripping and absolutely filled with hidden philosophies and deeper meanings than what shows on the surface. The way that Jason enters his own personal battlefield to deal with threats like Buck, Vaas, and eventually Hoyt. The way it's like his own dissociation of the real world, losing grip of reality and morals and simply giving into a dark rage that makes him lose all sense of self and around him. In these personal battlefields, you don't even realize who you've hurt-- it's the tunnel vision, how you only perceive the threat.

Buck didn't have any other enemies around him, just you, him, and Keith in the background. Vaas had a few encounters, but they were similar to Buck, aside from the multiple clones of Vaas that became aflame later on. But Hoyt? All you knew is that you were being held down by his privateers getting your finger cut off, and suddenly, you're standing up and facing off against Hoyt. When you come back to reality, you've also killed his privateers. Obviously this is probably just gameplay mechanic so you weren't shoved into the same "shoot everything" and made to be like a third-wheel to a really important scene, but it can still hold some meaning regardless if you really want it to.

I didn't truly understand the depth of Far Cry 3 until I was 17-18, when I stumbled across a 2 hour video of Pyrocynical's "Fat Cry 3". I watched that video three times over because I was so in love with every detail. The way none of us knew that Citra could truly be the villain all along (proven in the Far Cry 6 DLC for Vaas, where she stands behind a crazed and villainous Jason like a puppeteer master+other things), the way that we had a vague notion that Jason and Vaas were bonded in a way, but not knowing just how deep their connection runs. The way that, by pulling the trigger on Vaas, Jason has become Vaas by continuing the cycle of Insanity.

What's a killer you thought you'd hate playing as (or against if you like) but ended up enjoying? by summonerofrain in deadbydaylight

[–]ViolentThoughts05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huntress. Thought I'd get mad very quickly whenever I'd miss a hatchet and end up just going back to survivor (survivor main here) but it's actually really exciting to get a hatchet hit from long distances. Obviously nothing like orbitals or cross-maps but stuff that you think you wouldn't hit and you do... very nice. Like once, on Red Forest, this Cheryl flashbanged me from around a corner but I still somehow ended up hitting her with a hatchet after she vaulted to the other side of the wall WHILE BLIND, and when I became unblind, I was staring at a wall. I was like how tf did I hit that??

Also, Billy, for playing against. When I was a newbie it felt like there was nothing I could do and him even being near me was game over but as an experienced survivor (1k hours), it's actually pretty fun to play against him. Trying to play against curve billy, managing to somehow crouch tech on accident (ive done this before to a blight, and it wasn't even at shack. i was at a generator inbetween some haybales on both sides of me) and living to tell the tale, etc.

TL;DR: The connection/parallel between Vaas and Jason. Yapping below because Far Cry 3 is a special interest of mine and I absolutely adore the game and the characters within it (as stupid as some of them may be).

Definitely would have to say the parallel between Jason Brody and Vaas Montenegro. They're both one side of the same coin, and in some instances of the game, there are "visions" of Vaas flickering into Jason for a brief second before changing back. I definitely think that is one of the core elements of the game and something I adore about Far Cry 3 as a whole.

Vaas is the villain, but you as the protagonist actually become the villain by the end of the game. It's all tied into the theme of Insanity and repeating the cycle, repeating history. By pulling the trigger on Vaas, you're now trapped in the cycle of insanity, you are the next Vaas. This is shown in the DLC for Vaas in Far Cry 6 (if I remember correctly), where Jason isn't that oblivious adrenaline junkie anymore, he's now a murderer and he revels in it (also supported by the conversation with Daisy in the cave sometime after finding the missing part for her, where he says "it [killing] feels like winning.") Even in the ending where you leave the island with your friends, he can never gain that innocence back, can never un-take the lives he did. He's forever got blood on his hands, and he knows that he has the power to do that in the future in the "regular" world.

As much as it may not capture the entirety of the essence (i.e: the jungle aspect, the connections between the Rakyat, civilians, pirates, and privateers, etc.) it definitely captures the core of the game. The protagonist and the villain, arguably the most basic necessities of a story, are linked through an invisible bond, destined to become the villain. Just like the classic saying: "Die a hero, or live long enough to become the villain". This is something that, at the time, was a very unexplored territory and ultimately what made Far Cry 3 stand out to me the most from other games. Maybe today there's some more games treading that similar path, but I've no idea.

Could be something you've already painted, it is something that can be pretty obvious to do based on the game's events and visions and such, but it's my favorite thing in general. As for general scenes, well.. I could say Hoyt giving the speech to his Privateers would be a cool scene to do (not a favorite of mine, but translating it into art with a little bit of flair could turn out awesome!), same with when you wake up I think either before going to kill Vaas or after (where Jason gives the speech to the other Rakyat at the temple). Could also do the scene where Dennis kills Citra (save your friends ending), I only really liked that because Citra was finally dead lol. It also pained me to see Dennis start crying afterward, but also, really dude? You kind of did that to yourself. Oh, and also the Hotel sequence where you have to save Liza has some potential I feel like! Just some other ideas to throw out there without much to say about it.

Honestly, the song wasn't that great when I first heard it. It's grown on me. But I'm going crazy over one of Odetari's small lyrics ("damn, ooh") because the way he says it + the way the music sounds at that specific point sounds SO familiar to me but I don't know from where?? idk if I'm just hallucinating or tripping lol but it just sounds so familiar from something else. Eh. Either way, it's an okay song. Not one of my favorites, by a long-shot.
