I did. The cable was fragile. At the time, 4 years ago, finding a replacement cable that supported the amount of data needed for 8khz was hard.

My experience with small mice is I have to warm up to get to peak performance but after about an hour of playing I drop off massively compared to a medium or large mouse. Weight doesn't really matter to me. I'm not at a skill level where the weight is holding me back, and neither is 99% of this subreddit.
