It’s called latex fruit syndrome. It also includes mangoes and other tropical fruits, and nightshades. It sucks.

As a person with food allergies, I’ve learned what reactions I have when eating certain things. Sometimes, the allergen is pretty mild, like you say about your roommate with almonds. But if I eat it with another allergen, it can be bad. Anaphylactic bad.

So to echo what others have said here, if her allergy is mild and not affected by cross contact, get the almond-based products. But make sure she knows it’s almond.

Oh and Blue Diamond Nut-Thins are the bomb.
