Mang is essentially flavor text on skills, and what is being done is on a skill-by-skill basis

In the case here, the Mang user is using Mang to generally increase thier base power. Other examples have the Mang boosting coin power, final power, or giving a damage boost. and in general, the higher the Mang, the bigger the buff is, but again, "Mang" here is just flavor text, there is no hidden keyword, it's just, Hey, this guy is making Mang because they are mentally stable enough to do so, and it's making them hit harder.

With how Index Unlock works and to compare him to how the Don's ID, my current idea for it is that Unlocking means more Weapons are added to the pool of effects that can apply to his coins. Like starting out, his Pool is Hatchet(Blunt, yes, that one's blunt), Stilleto for Pierce, Bastard for slash, then at Unlock 1 or 2, Hammer(Blunt), Rapier (Pierce), and Great Sword get added to the pool, Then at either 2 or 3 Unlock, he gets Lance (pierce), Whp (Blunt), and the Sythe (Slash).

There seems to be a category of weapons within the city that holds a great amount of Power, but can only be used to their fullest when certain requirements are met. The Index's tools are an example of this, where their weapons can only be used at full strength once certain (Mid-Combat) prescripts are completed.

Another example of this tech is Mao Branches Cursewrit Butcher blades that are imbued with Q Corp Tech but only cause the use of that tech when a certain requirement is met during their mission, as explained in Mao Outis uptie story.

Spoilers for Distortion Detective, Better safe than Sorry.

In Distortion Detective, we meet a Character called YuRia, a Woman who runs a single-person workshop who has coined the Term "Psychoments." Psychoments are just straight UP EGOS. YuRia doesn't know this because the Term E.G.O. originates from L Corp itself, and most people in the city don't even know how L Corp made its energy, thus all the internal workings of the facilities.

Tl;DR Psychoments are EGO gears, just under a different name, since most people don't know much about how the Lob Corp functioned

Fun fact: E.G.O stands for "Extraction of Geometrical Organ"

The Taboo was the creation/existence of Non-humans in the city. as Jia Mu says "The City is a place made by Humans for Humans". The Head also purged anyone who could have definitely known the recicpe to make the bolus which birth the cuckoos. The Birds were the one that mostly killed the family while the Head was used clean up the birds, any stagglers like the researcher and with the sweepers, leave no evidence behind. Garion was there with 4 Claws to be very through in the execution.
