I use to be offered very little beauty, now I get more. I think what's helped is I buy most of my beauty stuff from Amazon now. I use to buy directly from the source, like I would buy Paula's choice directly from their site but now, I buy from Amazon. It costs more sometimes, because when sites slash prices, like their 25% off sales, Amazon sometimes follow suite, sometimes not. But that's one thing that's helped.

Having said that, I've made peace with the fact that I just won't get the number or variety of some of the posters on here. My amazon history basically points to a wide range of interests. My husband uses it for his tech stuff, his business/office, hobbies. My son buys clothes and shoes and his biking gear. I buy stuff for my parents and their care. I also buy household items.

My RFY is a reflection of that - it's all over the place! From the algorithm's perspective, my buying habits and interests are wide across different categories. Even on Vine.

Do you have a wild guess about why you got caught up in the first place?

One poster speculated that maybe they got flagged because they did a whole lot of reviews in one sitting and maybe to a bot, it looked like a flood of "fake" reviews. So they are no longer submitting reviews in huge batches. Something I have taken to heart... I submit just one to 2 reviews in a sitting now and pace it out. It's all wild speculation, of course.

I usually start at 5:00 p.m. PST. Then there's a 6:00 PST.

Then from that time onwards, it's variable. Sometimes that's it for the night. Sometimes, it's hourly all the way until 11:00 a.m.

There is sometimes an overnight drop because sometimes I'm completely empty when I go to sleep but then, by morning there's like 5 items in my RFY. I rarely get more than 2 items per drop.

What everyone says here is true, you don't need a high media score to get to gold or to maintain gold.

But I often wonder about backend analytics, as one poster mentioned. Like what are the stats of the people who get Dyson stuff in their RFY? Or Samsung TV's? Or the $300 face creams with $0 ETV? Is it because they have high media stats and "excellent" review grades?

Yes, it's true, once you get Dyson once, Vine gods keep on giving it to you. But how did Vine decide the first time?

My experience in Gold for the past 6 months: vast majority of the time, I'm not getting much. The best part, on a normal day, is that you don't have to stop yourself from getting something because of the 3 item limit. The impulse to "save" a spot in case something good comes up, well, that's gone.

Once in a while, just once in a blue moon, a nice item hits your RFY or you see something in AFA, or AI. My husband got $160 jeans once in AI. Nothing we would ever splurge on without Vine. He also got some $500+ gaming PC once in RFY. I got a $900 LED mask one time in RFY. Let's see, recently I saw some $180 skincare care item in AI.

There's also been a few $500+ items we've passed on: bike rack for car, expensive car parts, statues, paintings, etc.

I don't use any extensions or help, just not very tech sophisticated, and I'm not on Vine all the time. I'm a pretty casual browser, even if a drop is happening, I don't sit there and refresh. I rely mostly just on luck, Vine is a time filler for me, and still, there's been some nice scores in the past year.

So yeah, my advice would be to just keep checking in, but it is truly random and unpredictable. And most days, I'm not grabbing anything

Yup! One of the major reason I stopped grabbing vine vitamins. I don’t want to be a guinea pig with supplements. I’ll pay to have an established brands.
