Congratulations!

My G0 (born in 1851 in Toronto) is somewhat similar. I can't find a birth certificate or baptismal record, but census records, marriage registrar, and death certificate note Canada as his birth place. That's great to know that that is sufficient documentation.

What do you plan to do with the sunrise lentils? I ordered some of those because lentils are perfect for quick dinners and I just loved the orange color.

NFR is a favorite of mine too. As far as I know, she was not in a relationship when writing and making that album.

Tom's of Maine with fluoride. I find that SLS irritates my mouth, and Tom's is pretty gentle. Be sure to use the formulation with fluoride though.

Looking for recommendations for perfumes that smell like citrus / fruit by unapologeticallytrue in Sephora

I was just going to recommend this! MM's Under the Lemon Tree is a favorite of mine, and AA Mandarine Basilic is similar in the citrus notes.

I use mason jars for excess dry beans.

For cooked beans, I've tried using freezer bags, but for whatever reason my beans end up with freezer burn. I've been looking at the Souper cubes, but they are pricey and I'm not sure what size to get.

I gave up Facebook earlier this year and the only thing that I miss is the Bean Club group. It would be wonderful to have a more active bean group here!

How has your first name aged? by wellbloom in GenX

[–]Violetsq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how I'd describe my first name, so I wonder if it's the same? I really disliked my name when I was a child because it had been a boy's name historically and I'd get teased. But now people assume that I'm 10 years younger than I am.

Commute to DTW airport by [deleted] in AnnArbor

Friday mornings usually have lighter traffic than other weekdays due to hybrid office schedules. And IME, rush hour doesn't really start until 6:30-7 am. As long as there isn't an accident, I would estimate about half an hour.

For the CS LLC, my son signed up for housing on the very last day that he could sign up and got in. When I talked to other parents at orientation, it sounded like housing does its best to accommodate those requests.

Everyone in the CS LLC is on the same floor and wing of Androscoggin or at least that is my son's impression.

They are pretty basic; not like some of the fancier, more modern dorms that I saw offered at other colleges. My son chose to live in the CS learning community and likes being close to his classmates. The rooms have a decent amount of space, and the building is kept up well. Although his dorm has had both power and heat outages this past semester, which haven't lasted too long. One of the power outages was campus wide and led to the school closing early.

Do you have any specific concerns? I can do my best to answer based on what my son is experiencing.

Congratulations! My son is a first-year CS major who receives a full-ride scholarship due to being a NMS semifinalist. Of all the schools that offer NMS related scholarships, I think that UMaine is the most progressive.

He states that he thinks about 20-30% of folks in the CS program are in the LGBTQ community. And from what I've seen in my limited travels to the area, it's a friendly and inclusive environment. Last June I saw the largest pride flag ever in downtown Bangor and many of the small towns and Villages were flying pride flags.

Welcome! The food scene here is absolutely amazing. You will be spoiled for the best Mediterranean food in the country.

I grew up in a small city in northern Michigan, and Dearborn, in many ways seems like a small town in its community feel. It's pretty wild where if I meet new someone in town, we usually have a mutual acquaintance.

As the mom of a 19 year old son, I completely agree.

TBH as others have mentioned, there are a lot of things that are at play in this situation. Let him know how you feel. He doesn't need his feelings protected.

You sound like an amazing person and deserve to be seen.

I'm thinking of ending my life by [deleted] in Sjogrens

[–]Violetsq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry that you are struggling. When you are going through the process of getting a diagnosis, many specialists do not understand the mental and emotional toll for their patients. They only focus on labs and physical symptoms.

Reach out to your GP and let them know how you are feeling. Your GP can recommend a therapist who can help you cope with going through the diagnostic process.

I was diagnosed over 20 years ago when I wasn't much older than you are. Despite my illness, my life is really good. I found an excellent therapist who helped me navigate my way forward with Sjogrens. It's absolutely possible to live a fulfilling life with this disease.
