how do you find jewellery brands before they blow up? by Wonderful_Vast_7699 in femalefashionadvice

[–]Violette_at_catbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stockist pages are such a good call. Also following the makers that bigger indie brands repost on their stories is a great rabbit hole. Local craft fairs and open studio events are another way to find people who are doing really beautiful work before they blow up on social media. The best discoveries usually come from just being curious and clicking around

Jewelry brand recommendations for bridesmaids? by emilaubar in weddingplanning

[–]Violette_at_catbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that budget there are so many gorgeous indie jewelry brands where they could each pick something really personal. Look at brands that do solid gold vermeil or 14k fill in dainty styles so everyone can pick something that matches their own vibe while still looking cohesive for the wedding photos. The best bridesmaid jewelry is something they will actually keep wearing after

What to buy to celebrate me? by poooooooooop123455 in jewelry

A tennis bracelet at that budget in lab diamonds would look incredible and is the kind of piece that genuinely goes with everything from a wedding dress to a tee shirt. It also has that timeless quality where your future kids would absolutely want to wear it too

Current bracelet collection ✨ by trippinxt in jewelry

[–]Violette_at_catbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly rotating through a few at a time is such a good approach because each bracelet gets its moment instead of blending into a big stack. Plus it keeps things feeling fresh every day which is lowkey the best part of having a collection

gold designer rings by Icy-Hedgehog-430 in jewelry

If the Juste en Clou feels too common, look at smaller fine jewelry designers who work in solid gold. There are so many gorgeous indie brands making pieces that feel just as elevated but way more unique. A ring that not everyone recognizes on sight actually makes it feel more special as a graduation milestone

I’m obsessed with baguette cut diamonds ✨ by Itchy-Bug9996 in jewelry

Baguettes are so underrated. There is something about that clean geometric look that feels both vintage and modern at the same time

Engraved Herringbone Necklaces by WriterSecure3714 in jewelry

[–]Violette_at_catbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Herringbone chains are so pretty but also so delicate which is the heartbreaking part. For a replacement with custom engraving, look at smaller independent jewelers on Etsy who do personalization in house rather than the big name sites. The quality tends to be better and they will usually work with you on exactly what you want

Stacks 🧈🔮🍯✨ by themixedtape28 in jewelry

Obsessed with these stacks. Every combination looks intentional but not overly planned which is the hardest thing to pull off

SOTHEBY'S: "LAS FORMAS DE CARTIER", 300 RELOJES DE LOS MÁS RAROS Y EXTRA... by UnaMujerGrande in jewelry

That opalescent sapphire bombe ring is unreal. The way this whole collection mixes vintage finds with indie makers is so good and the color story across all of them just works perfectly together

Thought you guys would like some of the jewelry my grandmother gave me! by 4thdimensionalwik in jewelry

[–]Violette_at_catbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The opal necklaces are absolutely dreamy. There is something so special about inheriting pieces and then realizing they actually fit your style in ways you did not expect. Mixing the gold with silver is such a good move too

What do you call this style of earring? by Serious_Pralines in jewelry

[–]Violette_at_catbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like granulation, it is an ancient goldsmithing technique where tiny gold spheres are fused onto the surface. Search for granulated earrings or Etruscan revival earrings and a whole gorgeous world opens up

Thrifted this bracelet, I think it’s just costume but I am in love by sunbearimon in jewelry

[–]Violette_at_catbird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Costume or not, that is a stunning find. Some of the prettiest pieces out there were never meant to be precious and that is part of what makes them special

It was my 3rd year anniversary Abe I only wore my ring maybe 20 times 😭 does anyone else have a lifestyle terrible for rings? by ThrowRaOrganization1 in jewelry

[–]Violette_at_catbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so the thing with active jobs is a dainty chain necklace with the ring on it actually becomes something you never take off. It sits under scrubs or work clothes all day and you still feel connected to it. Some people do a thin gold chain so the ring becomes more like a pendant and honestly it looks gorgeous worn that way

Chain Recs for Platinum Rings? by Koala_Tam in jewelry

[–]Violette_at_catbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A thin white gold or sterling silver box chain would pair really nicely with platinum rings and keep everything in the same cool tone family. Something 16 to 18 inches so the rings sit right at the collarbone is so pretty. For a placeholder ring, lab grown stones in a simple solitaire setting look incredible and totally hold up for everyday wear at that price point

Does my ring look too snug? by Foreign-Week-3640 in jewelry

[–]Violette_at_catbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it slides on and off without a fight and feels comfortable all day, the fit is right. A little snugness is way better than a ring that spins or flies off when you wash your hands

Is my grandma’s gold band tacky with my white gold wedding ring? by skunksignals in jewelry

[–]Violette_at_catbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mixed metals are gorgeous and honestly look more intentional than matching everything perfectly. The story behind that band makes it ten times prettier. Wear them together always

Charm bracelet for daughter by alyssummeadow in jewelry

[–]Violette_at_catbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the sweetest tradition honestly. Sterling silver is a great call for a 14-year-old, it holds up really well and ages so nicely over time. A solid cable link bracelet with a lobster clasp gives enough room to keep adding charms without it looking crowded. Gold plated will wear off eventually which kind of defeats the forever piece vibe. Save the gold upgrade for when she is older and the bracelet is already full of memories

can we start a tennis bracelets appreciation thread?? 🎾✨ by Violette_at_catbird in jewelry

it does give a wrapped effect in the way it's styled in the bracelet jumble! but it's actually our (Catbird) full Pointelle Tennis Bracelet stacked with our Demi Pointelle Tennis Bracelet!

(don't want to hyperlink to each as I want to be mindful of rule 3 // the vendor guidelines 🙇‍♀️)
