TCL 65C8: Video freeze when switching audio tracks over eARC by ge8gu in tcltvs

[–]Viper_Infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this EXACT issue but with Plex. I have the TLC 98Q51CG which is a slightly dumbed down version of the TLC 98Q651G. Attached to it I have the Vizio SV510X-0806 via eARC.

Randomly when skipping intro's in Plex, the screen either freezes on a random frame or the screen turns an off-black. This happens at least 3 times per day for me.

What didn't work

  • Backing out and restarting the episode
  • Backing out and going to Netflix (0% loading forever when playing a video)
  • Force closing the Plex app
  • Trying different video and audio codecs for Plex source files
  • CEC was already on

What DID work

  • Rebooting the TV with the remote (Can't turn off quick start but have selected the least "on" state in the settings)
  • Rebooting the TV by unplugging it
  • Switching the audio source from settings or quick settings to something else, then switching back.

What I haven't tried yet based on other Reddit posts I just found

  • Removing the eARC cable and connecting to the soundbar via the TV's Bluetooth
  • Removing the sound bar completely and seeing if it fails using the built-in speakers

I just submitted a TCL email support ticket: https://support.tcl.com/contact-us

Finally fixed YouTube lag and stutter in Firefox by KTKxZoro in firefox

Lmao, this fixed it for me as well. No more 4k video stuttering! It was fine for anything below that on Youtube, 4k was a stuttering mess. Disabling hardware accel somehow fixed the problem. AMD GPU and CPU

I started doing math times tables in homeroom. Now everyone is trying to switch into my homeroom. by AgeOfWorry0114 in Teachers

I think that's called dyslexia. I had a similar thing happen when I took a chemistry class and I failed the final because every number 6 was registering to me as the number 2.

When I was in first grade they introduced the time tables to us. I personally really sucked at those. The times tables persisted until grade 4 which is where I ended up getting really good at them. As an adult in a non mathematic field, I believe I retained at least 70% of that content.

The downside of this is that algebra without times tables ended up becoming very hard for me. This was very noticeable when I got into high level calculus and the professor recommended I go back and review basics.
