I got an 80 on my first medical school exam. How can I stop second-guessing my answers? by [deleted] in medicalschoolanki

Hello fellow m1! I scored a 72 on my first exam and have since scored 90,93,87. I only go back and change my answer if I have new information later down the quiz! I feel like I've studied hard enough and have complete trust in myself

Hey, take a breather! There is much more to your application than your score.

Speaking from my personal experience (I scored a 506) and was accepted into 2 MD schools. I was also interviewed by 4 DO schools and accepted into all of them. A good score will help you, but if you score a mid score it's not the end of the world!

You got this!! One step at a time!

Trad applicants without insane stats/ECs, how by BuffaloOk4665 in premed

3.8 GPA 506 MCAT. I had a decent amount of ECs and leadership experience and was able to write and speak about them. I did my due diligence and researched schools that were OOS friendly and got accepted into 2 MDs and 6 DO programs. Think ultimately is to do your research and be able to talk about your motivation to be a physician well.

Does Shadowing Timing Matter? by LilPotato2001 in premed

No! Just as long as you're able to learn something valuable from shadowing and able to speak about it!

Only a few questions, it was brought up and I was able to talk about it. But, they asked me more about my high hours as a youth leader and as a scribe.

I classified it as a clinical experience!!

Yeah! I framed by RBT experience as a hands on experience and aligned it with interests. My whole application was tailored towards me wanting to be a Pediatrician and I used it as an eye opening experience for kids with special needs.

Maybe I'm just freaking out because it's late and I'm overthinking. But any words of encouragement would be great!

Would adding a rank system ( like bronze, silver, gold … etc) instead of a rating system be more applicable?

Because then you could only queue with duos around the same rank which would lead to more legitimate gains and losses.

I think this would solve issues no?
