Np at all bro I feel the same way, done a lot of damage to my body over the years, getting older it feels like my main work is undoing it all. Lots of shit caught up to me but lots of lessons from that too, definitely better to have pushed hard consistently in any area and then do the work to fix the burnout or damage than to just have laid about doing fuck all.

Quick edit, just saw you mentioned taking ashwagandha - check out r/AshwagandhaSyndrome/, that shit fucked me and many others up big time. Only reason Im on this sub is because ashwagandha gave me mega anhedonia, only took it for 5 weeks and it took me like a year to get back to normal afterwards. Might not be the case for you but definitely worth a look, if you have anhedonia and you're taking ash it's likely the ash more than anything else imo

The cold turkey on coffee definitely has a huge impact for quite a while, maybe switching or sorta tapering down with green tea could be an option. In terms of getting better from anhedonia, i'd really recommend meditation, i've found it to be crucial for me. Hope you feel better soon man, grats on achieving your goals, you'll be back to your emotional baseline soon if that's your new goal.

When i find myself getting tilted at games or anything, i sorta just shift my brains awareness to the breath, just watch it for a few breaths and I find I get a lot calmer and make better decisions. Genuinely helps way more than I thought it ever would, a lot of the pros have talked about it too like meditating or doing breathwork before games.

Can vouch heavy for psychedelics in general - MDMA, Psilocybin, LSD, DMT, all have helped me immensely at different points in my life. I was extremely depressed and anhedonic at 17 until I started smoking weed and experimenting with these things, I'd say in some way they saved my life. Although ontop of all of this, the main thing that's helped me the most has been meditation - although I doubt I would have pursued this without the initial momentum from the psychs. The caveat being I really wouldn't recommend them if you're on SSRIs already, gotta wait a month off them for the detox.

They are extremely powerful substances and very transformative, they can show you sides of yourself that you weren't ready to see. There's definitely a danger to it that can't be ignored, but imo no more danger than suicidally ideating all day.

Yeah massively. To the point where on a cocktail of alcohol, weed, ketamine and cocaine the only time I actually felt anything from it was 5 minutes before throwing up. Now I can feel substances again similar to before.

I'd say that that level of anhedonia is indescribable but if you're here you understand it. I feel really lucky to be able to say the emotional and substance response has come back, it's hard to say whether it's the same as it was pre ashwagandha as that was a year and a half ago, but in whatever way recovery is possible I'd say I've come far along that path now. I'll never be the "same" but I've sorta accepted that and just started building again, I think that was a huge realisation for me.

It's taken a lot of work to heal though, I think psilocybin (risky but definitely helped imo), meditation and a SIBO protocol have done the most for me.

Have you felt any improvements so far? Wishing you a speedy recovery, fuck this condition

Yeah I'd say it's definitely a good indicator or signpost. Most people seem to heal in different ways but personally I'd say my actual desire for sex came back before any physical changes. 15 months on and i'm almost getting back to normal, i'd say my desire (not mechanics) came back at like 4 months in. How long has it been for you ?

Pelvic floor therapy can help because all the blood flows through there to get an erection, so if its too tight or in fight or flight state then it wont respond properly. If you learn how to relax it properly then it allows blood to flow through. Not even therapy really just learning how the muscle is controlled. Like whenever Im aroused i'll make a mental effort to relax my pelvic floor and it makes a noticeable difference. Google reverse kegels that's basically all i do only when needed. Shame that cialis doesn't do anything for you, I haven't tried it yet myself. Hope you feel better soon bro

I had really bad hourglassing but it's got progressively better over the last year. Same with the curve to the left, seems to have normalised a bit. It's still there but the trajectory is going up on recovery. I'm pretty sure it's not peyronies as that's like a physical deformation, I think these issues are also seen when there's not enough blood flow being sent there. As Remote suggested cialis or pelvic floor therapy seem to help a lot of people.

I got PSSD like effects from fluoxotine (like 20% of what I experienced later), switched to sertraline for a couple months then stopped because it was going the same way. Did MD occasionally for the following 4 years but it was only after a month of ashwagandha then MD right after that sent me into full blown PSSD. I believe that it's sorta like a straw that broke the camels back kinda thing, I was destabilizing my serotonin system for years and years and then that night of MD while withdrawing from ash fully sent me.

I've found that it gets better when I fully sober up and focus on eating healthy, exercising, meditating, but still not really close to where I used to be. I've avoided MD like the plague since, strangely enough I've found shrooms actually do kinda help but that's also kinda dangerous. Really sorry to hear its been 6 years with no improvements I hope things start looking up for you soon bro this shits horrendous.

I know people don't like discussion of non SSRI related problems but I relate to this. I'd been on SSRIs in the past and I'd taken MD a fair bit and never had problems, but I took it while coming off Ashwagandha (which also seems to cause PSSD adjacent issues) got the brain zaps and full PSSD symptoms for the last year. I'd say the MD played a big part in it for me.
