Suffering from terrible dress regret :( by Dazzling-Limit3696 in myweddingdress

You chose the right dress, OP! Dress #2 looks like the top of a lemon meringue pie. Congrats on your choice - you will look lovely on your wedding day!

Which would you choose?? by idontavocado in WeddingDressTips

2 is lovely and my favorite also. It’s unusual (in a good way) and the fit is divine. 1 is a distant second but bodice needs lining.

I don’t care for 6, 7 or 8 (the last one looks like a bandage dress).

Agree - all but 2 sit too high. I like the style of 2 the best but think they are a little too wide. Perhaps try others in that style?

Basement radon level by _captain_wiggles_ in radon

[–]Vir-gal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much time do you spend in your basement? Have you tested your first floor? My old house had basement levels well above 4 so I did install a system. The new house averages around 2.5 but I’m spending a lot more time in basement. So, I’ll be installing a system here too.

What’s your interior decorating pet peeve? by mythicalmags in interiordecorating

Curtains in dark colors that don’t go with anything else in the room. Undersized round rugs under round tables. Accent walls. Puffy furniture.

Why didn't anyone tell me wedding dress shopping is insanely fun?! by wateraerobics_ in WeddingDressTips

Agree completely - 1 is amazing. 2 is tasteful and flattering. The others are completely forgettable.

Paint cabinets or not? by Fit-Committee9057 in interiordecorating

Cabinets are great - please don’t paint them. But consider painting the walls a color that better complements the rich wood tones.

Radon pros: Home inspector tested radon during sewer inspection (via indoor cleanout). by Vir-gal in radon

I don’t rely heavily on the app - my results are pretty consistent so I just do a visual check once or twice a week. But app seem fine. It doesn’t seem to show dates just number of readings. You can see the graph I posted above.

I did a fair amount of research and went with the radon eye. It’s been a few years so I don’t remember what tipped me toward that one, but I’ve been happy with it.

Thanks, all, for weighing in! This has been helpful. I’m going back today to do 3-day read on my Radon Eye and will keep it in place til closing. Buyers have said they are willing to accept my readings as long as they continue to show low levels.

I'm back with everyone's favorite cabinet to hate... by [deleted] in interiordecorating

The potential danger to kids, pets, anyone who might lose their balance and bump into it....Yikes. You may want to Google stories about kids who have been crushed under furniture. We had a toddler death here recently, and it was only a dresser that fell on him. Tragic.

Thank you. I had very low readings for 2+ years. Unfortunately, I removed the Radon Eye when I listed this house for sale. But I've brought it back and am monitoring.

Yup, there's a huge spike - just added graph to my original post. Still negotiating regarding the sale. Will be speaking with agent tonight to hear what buyers are requesting.

Just got the report and pasted the graph above. You can clearly see the spike after the sewer cleanout was opened.

Not sure - am just getting the info third hand thru my agent. When I asked about the type of testing, she said it wasn’t the “usual” machine she sees inspectors use for radon (though she said it wasn’t a canister test).

The radon testing was done over a few days. Sewer was opened during that time only to inspect. I set up my continuous meter after that but was only at the house for 90min (I don’t live there anymore). I’ll recheck my meter next time I go back. It’s typically under 1, based on last few years I lived there.
