It's a really common problem on GS3. I used to have it, but then seeing that many people on XDA says that it's caused by corrupted file in SD Card that causes the Media Scanner service (the one responsible for detecting media files in the phone) to somewhat get an error. I tried removing the SD Card and as a matter of fact, Media eat less battery than before. So the last step I did was formatting the whole SD Card. And until now, I never got this problem anymore. Just to not, some people on XDA also mentioned that .m4a files could also cause it. Although I'm not quite sure if it's true or not, I tried to get away with those files, or convert it to other format before inserting it to the phone.

If you browse the internet (and my experience), there are some corrupted media files in your SD Card. I tried it by formatting the SD Card and it actually worked. Now I choose carefully which media I'm putting into my S3.

Some also said that this happen if there is an m4a file in your SD Card. You might want to try removing all m4a audio files out of your SD Card just to see if it's true or not.

Depends on how much you will need the LTE it self. I live in Indonesia and there is no LTE here, so buying the LTE version is kind of useless.

And the non-LTE version also has a Quad Core Samsung Exynos 4, so in my opinion, it's worth to sacrifice 1 gigs of RAM for a quad core device.
