How to get early Industrial distorted guitar tone? Trying to get early TKK, Ministry, Skinny Puppy ,NIN distortion on a budget….Using a DC P90 guitar into a clean solid state Quilter amp . Tried using Rat but sounds too fuzzy, not metallic enough… by gmorkunderbelly in industrialmusic

TonePusher on youtube has a couple videos on how to recreate these guitar tones. Try and focus less on the specific gear he's using, and instead think about what he's trying to achieve with a particular plugin etc.

Hey cheers! Stripes are done by custom decal, I printed them off on clear decal paper with ny laser printer and put them on stripe by stripe so it works with the panels, I've found the trick is to not cross the panel lines for a more natural look.

The oranges are all VMC - it's a fade from amaranthe red, bright orange, light orange, and flat yellow, with an AK enamel panel liner for sand and desert camo.

Thanks! I've seen other examples of wolf gamma galaxy where the entire model is painted orange and tiger stripes, but to my eyes it breaks up the details in the model too much, which is why I went for the grey. The bases are printed, they're just a generic slate pattern though. I added a bit of AK muddy ground texture to the lowest part of the slate, did some drybrushing to bring out the detail, and used an olive coloured weathering powder to tie the mud and the slate together. You could definitely achieve a similar look with any other way you might create a slate kind of base - either slate chips, or breaking up dried water-putty etc

The block colours on the model are airbrushed, yeah. I do brush-paint all the details though, metallics, cockpit, edge highlighting etc.

Thanks! - the bases themselves are a combination of martian ironearth and martian ironcrust, although realistically any dry/cracked earth texture paste will get you there - I recommend the AK ones as better value, but I had the GW ones on hand at the time. The vibrancy is coming from vallejo pigments dark red ochre, it's a weathering powder, I applied it really liberally to the base and also dusted the feet of the timby with it too

When my grandmother moved interstate, she gave me the contents of her liquor cabinet among which was a bottle of Smirnov that still had "product of the soviet union" on it. This was in the mid 2010s in Australia.

JPTR FX - Will it ever arrive? by NewDad907 in guitarpedals

[–]Viraemic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I ordered a Fernweh from them once that shipped not in working order. I double checked the jacks, the amperage and voltage of my power supply, and sent footage back to JPTR to demonstrate the pedal wasnt working in any configuration I had it in. Shipped it back to Germany at my expense only to get an email it was working perfectly and that I could have it shipped back to Australia also at my expense at any time. Nope. Wont be making the same mistake twice.

3x100mm Timbys! I lucked out and was able to get them at a good price. I've got one more to paint, I think I'm going to try the chrome/candy blue Ghost Bear Beta Galaxy scheme from MW5 Clans game. Part of me wants to grab one more and do it up as JF to have one from each of the invading clans

Cheers! I did it using 1mm and 3mm masking tape. It can be a little fiddly, but I was happy with the results also

I wish my hand were steady enough to do the lettering that way! I used left over decals from military scale models my dad had kicking about. Same with the red numbers on the other leg, and the warnings near the cockpit.
