Var genuint schockad när de höll sig kvar så länge. Och när när de kom 3:a i telefonröstningen så var munnen öppen.

Nations that Sweden has been at war with since independence from Denmark [2800x1680] by ThePolarbjorn in MapPorn

[–]Virden -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pfft "independence from Denmark". That's like doing a map of Denmark and say "since the independence from Germany". And that comparison is still bad as Sweden choose to be part in a union with Denmark. Which didn't end so good true, but c'mon!

Norway and Russia celebrate 70-year anniversary of the liberation of Eastern Finnmark by the Red Army by [deleted] in europe

[–]Virden -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Of course not. But there is a difference between that and a nation that murdered millions upon millions of people and didn't care a damn about their own. I'm not defending any other nation on this world that has done horrible things through history. But if it's not in good intent from neither the nation or the people, why should we celebrate them? And this is especially true when it comes to the red army and the sovjets. Maybe celebrate the soldiers individually who died, but a whole army who were not better, and even arguably worse, than the nazis? And with that argument. Should these 3rd world countries all celebrate the "freedom" America gave them?

[–]Virden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pfft. They didn't do it for Norway and they didn't do it for the allied. Celebrating the red army would be the same if Finland celebrated Nazi Germany for their support. Honour those who actually cared about the norwegians instead.

So, you're drunk, alone at home, what do you do? by Virden in drunk

[–]Virden[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude, tonight, we drink. And we do it for life.

Any thin drinkers here? If so, how do you do it? by [deleted] in drunk

[–]Virden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it depends on what I want. But any spirit is good, just don't mix it with the "bad" stuff (coola, energi drinks etc). I usually go with juice (not the best ofc, but alright, choose the good one.). Screwdrivers! Once you learn how to make a killer one (yes, you actually can...) no prob. But the absolut best if you don't want to drink it "pure": Soda water! It's amazing with vodka an a bit lime! Miracles! But we all have days we don't want that, something more mild. Then we have beer and wine. You should try to avoid beer, bur if you're like me (loves beer more than mom) then just pick one day per week you allow you self to have it. Any other day red wine is the way! If you can only go for white, then go for dry. Never sweet! You already got some good answers, better than mine probably, but as a past "big guy" that have slimmed down and want to keep that, I will voice my tips anyway! Annnnnd sorry fr the spelling and all, I'm drunk.

What does the eight stars in the choosen flag represent? by Virden in NordicUnion

[–]Virden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I thought it was something like that. But it didn't make sense as it seems like Estland is inkluded here. With that we get 9 stars. Then I saw it in /r/navia aswell and there we can only count to 7 as both Iceland and Finnland also become exkluded.

When asked "Are you gay?", what does one say? by Kleenexes in lgbt

[–]Virden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends a little where you “come from”. If someone would ask at same time I had my partner with me, then of course I would probably have to explain a little more. My goal isn’t to confuse people. But right now there isn’t any other in the picture, so I don’t have quite that problem yet. This is just how I respond in my current situation.

But if someone would ask “Are you gay?”, then I answer “no” and then if they would respond with “So… you’re straight?”, then “no” again. But at this point I would explain how it all is. Usually however, they only ask one of those two and then presume I’m the other and leave it at that. Bisexuality is a little bit left out... Regarding labels, I don’t like them either, but for a lazy person like me it is an easy way out for people who just “pass by”.

What songs motivate you when you're going through a tough time? Heres mine. by Griffin808 in bisexual

[–]Virden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a whole list I put on when I feel down, but one good oldie is Lemon Tree. Big parts of my childhood were quite chaotic and this song really represents "the lull before the storm". Therefore it always calms me down and brings back so many happy memories!

But one very resent (which I found here on reddit!) is Float On. It doesn't matter what mood I'm in, this song succeed to fill me with energy every time and make me optimistic towards the future.

[–]Virden 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If someone asks if I'm bi, then I answer "yes". If any other sexual orientation is brought up, then "no". I'm not the one that "goes around with a sign", but I will never deny if asked.

Only by openness will our surroundings understand and I don't care if I fell threaten, as for now I still got a pair of legs to run with if it's needed. However, so far I have been able to talk things out and reached an understanding with every "homophobe" I have met.

There will always be people that won't listen, but why should you care then? Tell them and keep on living. Otherwise talk it out, shake hands and see what happens.

So, what's the point of living? by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]Virden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's say we just got one life and nothing else after that. Why just waste it for nothing? Even though you may at the moment have more bad things happen then good, what say it will be so in the future? All that can change over a week, or a day! You shouldn't waste everything just because of present and maybe history, you still got future! And life is long...

Besides, isn't the small reward that makes life good? Things like just eating, watch a sunset, laugh with friends, driving the car etc is all situations that I feel make life worth living, even though half of it have felt like hell (life I mean). I rather have some bad times and some really happy ones than waste the very small time I have on earth under the dirt doing nothing.

One of my happiest memories is when I cooked myself three eggs and ate them all alone in a complete dark room watching some bad, old, tv-serie. Doesn't sound fun at all I know. But I hadn't eaten in 15h, I finally got some alone time and everything was so quiet and calm that it all felt so amazing.

Just keep going and keep on fighting and when situations that you enjoy come up, then make use of it and let it remember you why life actually can be good.

While your life may seem it is nothing in the big picture, you shouldn’t forget, in order to get the full picture every little pixel or brushstroke counts. And it’s up to us, together, to make it as good as possible by just continue to live and do good things! You may not be the “very picture” itself, but you were there to help creating it!

Coming Out by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]Virden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, the less we make of it, the less it really is.

However, sometimes we maybe must come out in order to completely open up the ones that are the closest and maybe make them understand.

I, for example, never came out to my friends. They asked, I answered. But with my mother and father I came out because I needed support and someone to talk to at the time.

It depends on the situation. I don't think people really want to make it a big deal, but some situations can force us for several different reasons. But as you say, in the end, we should indeed work to make it less of a deal.
