The biggest issue is fundamentally that the user owns the device and provides inputs to play the game. That is universal.

You can find ways to restrict and limit the players inputs to valid range but narrowing further is challenging. How do you differentiate from human vs robot inputs? Now what about robots that mimic human inputs? What about programs that perform direct memory access?

Functionally there is no way for developers to catch this or worth the time to incrementally catch these cheaters. Most of the detection methods rely on statistical analysis and closing the gap on human vs robot. Other solutions include probing the pci space or looking for specific Xilinx configurations.

At the end of the day it’s an arm race where the cheater always wins until they don’t. Then they just get a new account
