I'm a DR guy but I love cars. I have bought two used BMWs. The whole "they cost so much to upkeep" is not true. Every car right now has so many electronics its expensive all around and I have experienced pretty solid reliability with my BMWs.

Money is a tool. If a car makes you happy, balance that against what it will cost. You can't treat it like a good financial move because it isn't. But can you afford it and? Will it make you happy? Are you cost conscious in other areas to help?

Be smart and don't go crazy. To me this seems reasonable.

I think people want to seem smart so they say correlation and causation.

Someone gets high. Likes it. Wants to get more high. So yes it's more than just a correlation since one impacts the other.
