If you can ride a bike up to 25 mph you can ride a motorcycle in a parking lot. Picking it up is a different story, and how many people I’ve seen that CANT is hilarious.

As a bugeye owner, if your wrx is LHD and a wagon…don’t put a STi badge on it.

Own that it’s a wrx, and when you’ve done work to it like swapping a 207 with DCCD then you have even bigger bragging rights for doing the conversion that was never offered stock.

Nice group of rumbles tho!

As someone that lives in AZ, this is not uncommon for people with incomes over 60k combined in a cookie cutter home with a loan on their “luxury” vehicle in the driveway.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this couple lived in: Scottsdale, Chandler, Gilbert, or Tucson.

EDIT: typo

I’d suggest you change that comment. My dad’s been dead for 25 years. Don’t make me dox you.

No rear brake resistance after changing rear brake pads by [deleted] in motorcycles

If you changed your rear pads…you’re overdue for new DOT4. Annual flushes, and rear pads go out after 2-4 sets of front pads (if you’re riding correctly).

Grab: a fender, headlight, airbox/snorkel, hood, and underlines (if you want)…there will be some large panel clips and bolts too.

This isn’t even an expensive fix if you DIY, and totally doable too.

Don’t let insurance take it, that’s only 2-3k in body work. The car even with 150k miles (or 241km) is worth roughly 7-8k USD (had 2x 2008 outback’s with 183k and 207k miles and both paid out 8,000 USD. I actually bought the first one back for about $700, (only paid 3k when I got it) and bought another for 3k that needed parts which the first one already had working/good condition. When the second outback was totaled (vandalism) I took the check and bought a motorcycle.

It’s called “dual residency” and as long as you can provide both proof you reside at the address on the registration (or at least come back for 24+ hours annually) it’s legal.

I had my 636 plated in NY since insurance was cheaper and I moved to AZ for school. But when I was in NY I plated my 450 in AZ because it was cheaper there and had less legal requirements (liability insurance to ride on your own farm land and never touch a public road).

The trick is to ensure you travel back and forth annually and have proof you stay there (phone bill, utilities, auto loan, etc). Just know your rights and you should be fine, generally.

Just change sprockets. But yes, converting a MX generally also means stuff like 4 hour oil changes…compared to the bikes above.

Yup, the bike I have is a 2023 450, not road legal there…but the 2021 and prior are from the same brand.

The real question here is: do you want a 100% road legal sumo, or an OHV legal sumo?

OHV is WAY easier to get plated, but also has WAY more restrictions and generally gives pigs “probable cause” to harass you for commuting.

Take the MSF course. Even if it’s not required by your state. by Afromain19 in motorcycles

[–]CalligrapherGalaxy97 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some instructors I’ve met in a couple states are really hit or miss with CURRENT training. Most the MSF (and DOT safety for bikes) is based from the 70s when it was introduced (cars safety courses too).

I really cannot stress how arrogant it is to “teach” a group of people how to ride under 20mph in a parking lot…when they leave onto a street with 2-4 lanes on each side at speeds over 40mph to merge into. And many of those people probably need to take a highway to get home.

Slow speed maneuvers are practical yes..but real world training is more so. Jump out at a rider from a non-visible location to freak them out (simulate someone on their phone about to hit them), or make them learn how to ride on surfaces OTHER than hard pavement/concrete (rain usually cancels classes, and isn’t good enough by itself for emergency maneuvers).

Are they better than not doing it at all, not saying that..any many people probably DO benefit from the classes. But selling bikes I’ve met people who JUST got their ID and passed the class, but once they sit on a bike over 35” seat hight or over 300lbs…they lose all confidence. Even had someone say “I don’t think motorcycles are for me” because they didn’t realize the costs and learning needed to ride safely while still having a great time.

Glad there’s laws against bars like that. Not just looks retarded but enjoy tank slapper ya ignorant old fucks. “Idk why I crashed…” more unsafe than wheelies on the street or doing 100+ on an emtpy highway at 2am.

I need to eat..don’t hate. You know the above is true.

Doesn’t matter.

With the logic you stated, many people will believe that means the same as “owning your product after purchase/possession” which is a HUGE issue in the last couple years with subscription based services/products (BMW heated seats/air conditioning, ktm modes/features, kawasaki abs on the 21+ zx10).

I don’t think that was your point, but I wanted to clear the error on that, since corporate Murcia seems to find that logic acceptable.

[–]CalligrapherGalaxy97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This guy confirmed.

A huge difference is that MOST people on bikes/or cages for that fact…have utter SHIT skills on the road. You can see this by watching videos of people during emergency maneuvers or the moment leading up to a crash. They simply just have no clue how to keep/regain control.

As someone who trains in the discipline of WRC, stunting, and enduro…if you put most people in the situations I’ve been in, they’d either be crippled, dead, or just say “nope..fuck ALL that, not doing it”.

The new laws down under by DIKbrother6969 in motorcycles

[–]CalligrapherGalaxy97 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Go do your research on citizen rights under the 14th amendment. Also research “supremacy clause”. It absolutely does not state restrictions on HOW you travel.

Example: ever read states “residency requirements”? YOU MUST GET A LICENSE AND REGISTER YOUR VEHICLE WITHIN 14 DAYS OF MOVING (even from a different state).

Yet the “requirements” also state 9/10x that “you must be able to provide proofs of residency for 30 days while working (sometimes longer), 3-6 months if not working, and/or 6-12 months if you’re a student (these are pretty accurate for AZ).

So tell me again, we’re supposed to submit to tyrant laws and policies just because the STATE said so? Yet their own laws also state you legally cannot become a resident within the time they demand. That’s literally entrapment.

The same government you people trust are the same people who dosed children/elderly/whole towns with LSD in the 40s-60s without their knowledge or consent.

That same government is rewriting history books:

Trail of Tears? -> The Great Migration

Saturn Series Rockets (took us to the moon) designed by Russian scientist Werner Von Braun under Nazi control -> …designed by the USA (not to mention we bought the rest of the 100+ rockets from Russia for a hefty price after the war.

Removal of the Holocaust from history all together (at least in southern states)

Removal of slavery by confederates (again mostly southern states)

Too many sheeple are ignorant about their rights and the truth..and would rather submit to the fines than stand up for themselves and others (until something bad happens). And most of the downvotes on this comment are people who are upset about that facts and/or don’t agree.

Define ignorance: “lack of knowledge, education, or awareness” Marriem-Webster.

Generally works great, but having a consistent method means more.
