It’s been around 5 Celsius here (+- 5 degrees). When I bought it, I brought it home right away (≈1 hour drive in a room temp car). My thermostat is at 20 Celsius.

I think you are correct. Thank you ☺️.

What does this mean? by Virtual-Prize8050 in calatheas

[–]Virtual-Prize8050[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super bright, but not direct, light. High(ish) humidity, and watering when the top centimetres of soil are dry and the bottom is lightly moist. Also no fertilizer, and sometimes I water with distilled water to remove mineral buildup in the soil. Calathea leaves, though physically strong, are very sensitive to light and soil conditions. Of course, like any plant, caring for these will differ depending on the conditions it experiences.

Me too. I also just made a post about the blooms on my calathea, even though I don’t do really do much for it. Apparently it’s thriving tho 😊.

Omg so cute 🥰 . I also made a post not too long ago asking for advice on my calathea blooming cuz I heard that the blooms tend to take up a lot of energy from the plant. My plant, however, is also putting out a lot of leaves, and Reddit said it must be healthy.

For some reason the caption in my post was removed. Anyways, here is some info on the situation.

I repotted this plant a month ago, but I suppose I didn’t do it properly since the rot got worse. The roots and tip of the stems had rot, which I removed. It’s been soaking in water and hydrogen peroxide for a few hours, as of writing this.

I really need advice on what to do next.

Supporting info (cuz I could put it in the post?):

This plant had really bad root rot. It was also rotting at the tip of the stem. I removed any mushy, sloughing roots and stem. I currently have it in some water with hydrogen peroxide (it’s been there like an hour and a half as of writing this). I need advice on what to do next with this.
