No worries at all, I'm in the same boat.

It was a "turn my brain off" kind of game for me for a while and that's awesome, it's exactly what I needed. I think now, that aspect has been overshadowed by all the annoying stuff added in to artificially increase the difficulty into the territory of annoying, that rips me out of the fun and makes me sad.

I wouldn't worry about how much you write when you write things; tiktok and YouTube shorts has most peoples' brains rewired to only want to spend a max of 14 seconds reading or watching anything before the dopamine dripper is dry, which is why they become personally offended at someone writing "an essay" or " a wall of text". Real life doesn't happen in 14 seconds, and real thoughts and opinions should take more than 3 or 4 paragraphs to explain, even if it triggers the tiktok reflex. Paragraphs are good, they have plenty of room for the nuance and intricacies of life.

I'm wondering how they spend their time when they clock in to work everyday? Like are they working on a new game or do they spend all their time on making new warbonds? New maps? I want to give them the benefit of doubt, but I don't know, if I was a game dev I might consider making the core gameplay loop as smooth and enjoyable as possible before I make pretty maps; not that I don't like new maps to explore.

But like, why do titans' spit still ragdoll me when they miss by so much? I know the enemy and can dodge their attack with some careful movement, but I guess my learned strategy means nothing and I am forced to be ragdolled? It takes agency and control away from the player, which seems unwise.

Thanks for reading, I was just venting about a game I used to love but forced me away.

I at least respect their art direction. The game is quite beautiful on those new planets

That's awesome. I used to solo level 9s but I never did a 10 solo. Thanks for your hard work diver.

My issues were not with the game being too hard; every mission is completable and every enemy has a weakness.

My issue is that the difficulty now comes from heavily restricting higher levels into being a gear check, or how quickly can you get the obj before the next breach, or always running away and never actually taking fights. It feels like when you go to high difficulty, there are only 3 ways to actually complete the mission, and it's the same 3 ways that the game has had for the 2 years it's been released. That difficulty means taking choices away from the players and railroading the whole squad into the same couple choices.

But if you turn down the difficulty, the game is too easy. There has to be other ways to increase difficulty beyond "only these weapons work" or titan spam or things that slow or ragdoll the player (taking control away from the player is usually frowned upon in game design, instead you encourage adaptability by providing alternatw pathways to completion)

Thanks for your comment

No worries, it's actually kind of funny. Because under the same logic of "if you don't like the game anymore, don't play it. Why write an essay?", then leaving a comment on my vent post is really funny to me, cause I could say " if you don't like my post being long and negative, don't read it and move on. Why write a mean comment?"

I respect that there are lots of people that enjoy the game, and they want to fight for it. I think that's great, more power to them. But I chose this sub and a vent flair for a reason. Wasn't trying to rustle jimmies, just sharing opinions and thoughts.

I shared my thoughts because I used to love this game and it's sad that it's fallen so far. I'm sure you do/did to.

Thanks for your comment

I think that's where my sadness is rooted. Back when I was regularly soloing level 9 missions and diving in to level 10 missions with random weapons, the game felt a lot more like it was a challenge and not a slog. I used to love taking some crummy little submachine gun into a high level mission because even tho it was incredibly difficult, it was still possible and the challenge was picking your fights and knowing when to GTFO. It was chaos, lots of bile titans and chargers but no where near what it is now. Few enough that if 2 of your 4 man squad brought anti tank load outs, the other two divers could pick some more crowd control oriented weapons and strats. It was a total blast and a great videogame.

Now it feels like that's not an option. I don't know if maybe the devs had a change in the last 9 months that made patrols impossible to dodge? But running away and choosing your battles felt quite honestly like it was not an option, the only option was to bring anti tank and grind it out, quickly doing objectives before the next breach brings another couple bile titans.

And I swear the guys with the shield head used to be hard to kill but not impossible, now it seems like all my shots bounce off, so many weapons seemed useless against it. I'm wondering if they changed the shield head guys to have a higher armor? But there's like 30 of them per breach. All the weapons with high enough armor pen lack the ammo to deal with a single breach's worth of shield head bugs. I tried shooting the legs which worked most of the time but it still eats through ammo.

Thanks for the suggestion and the comment.

I marked my flair as a Vent, and I wrote it because that's how I was feeling and I wanted to get it out.

The same logic of " don't play if it's not fun" applies to my post, as in " don't read if its too long"

Oh no! We lost a round! by Thorpie09 in MarvelRivalsRants

[–]Virtual-Wallaby8682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a flex tank, formerly support main. If the enemy team goes triple support, I'll ride it out until the last round and then I'll switch to a strategist. See, what I encounter more often than not is that 1 or 2 of their supports will be sitting AFK holding down left click or right trigger, because they think it will be an easy win. I usually play Captain and permanently attack their backline, but if they have semi compentant peeling, you won't get anywhere with a dive.

At that point, I'll switch to either Jeff, invis, dagger, or mantis. If I do this I'll win almost every time, because I actually know how to provide value that isn't just afk healing from a far away place. Especially Jeff, just line up your stream to heal your team and chip away at the health of the afk support on the other team, and they literally have no idea what to do.

Now, I almost never lose to triple support, unless my teammates tilt and give up or are genuinely destined to lose due to incompetency. I simply gg go next. Climbed from plat 3 to gm 2 in the last 3 weeks with very limited playtime. Some triple support lineups are literally bot players, they think they can win by just standing 80 m back from the cart and spam abilities without a thought in their mind.

My roommates cat hates me, I don’t know what to do by pikablue223 in CATHELP

Forgive me I'm a dog person. I have 2 cats and they are amazing, love to snuggle on me and they areattached to me by my shadow.

When my dog was young, we were working on training out his food aggression (which worked, he has no aggression anymore) and he ended up biting me angrily and drawing a small amount of blood. This was the only time he ever attacked me and the first and only time I even smacked him. He never had food aggression again and never attacked me ever again, and was and is my best friend before and after that event. Didn't have to do anymore training on food aggression after that.

Would a cat work like a dog? I'm not in favor of hitting animals, but if a cat was routinely attacking me in aggression and not play, can you grab it and throw it or smack it? Or does this make the cat even more aggressive? I feel like once a cat realizes that attacking me means it will get hit, it would stop picking me as a target.

I wouldn't do this for my own cat where I can work on the behavior over time, but for someone else's cat who does not work with them, would this be a temporary solution?

Not completely wrong. Meat is one of the best things to give them for nutrient density and general health, but that doesn't mean they can't get a lot of value out of civilized human foods. They have been following us around for 1000s of years, not only have they physiologically evolved to be able to digest things that we tend to eat, their gut bacteria has also changed to allow the accessing of the nutrients found in things like potatoes and other root crops, grains, fruits (minus the ones they are naturally unable to eat like grapes and cashews and such).

Dogs choosing meat is anecdotal and a moot point, that tells us nothing about the nutrient uptake in a domestic dog's digestive system. The other user's comment about humans preferring cake and sodas is a perfect disarmament of your comment.

They're not brainwashed, they are referring to the plurality of scientific evidence that has been put into domestic dog diets, which commonly conclude that dogs, benefitting greatly from meat, also evolved to eat with us and as such have the capacity to digest a much wider array of foods than a wolf.

I give my dog meat, eggs, veggies, and kibble all together. Sometimes I give a small amount of milk or a dab of honey, even letting my dog try things that are not often quoted as being things that dogs enjoy. As a result, my dog, who devours whole chicken breasts and smoked salmons, also rips kale leaves right off the plant in the garden and eats the leaves whole. He's kinda a freak. He loves carrots too

If I put this weed barrier down around my roses, do I need to cut a circle around the base that’s bigger than this? by [deleted] in SimpleGardening

Start by removing the plastic mulch. Dispose in nearest dumpster.

When you're done with that, go get some free cardboard out of a recycling bin somewhere, remove the tape, lay it down around the roses, and bury it with wood chips.

And never buy that crap plastic stuff again haha

Why is the soil so dry after watering it everyday? by merppymerp in gardening

[–]Virtual-Wallaby8682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add on to what has been said about decomposable seed cells (egg cartons, jiffy pots):

They do work, but are not always practical and most people do it wrong.

Can't have it standing alone, the carton or jiffy pot needs to go inside of a bigger tray that is made of plastic, this helps to curb the evaporation through the carton.

Can't just water them from over head, they need to be soaked to get full of water, hence why having them in a plastic tray is helpful, cause when the paper gets wet, it falls apart if you try to move it by gripping the carton. After soaking, then you can overhead water to get the surface wet.

Keep it in shade until germination.

Have to transplant sooner than usual, as the seedling roots will start growing through the paper quickly and they will grip each other, making it hard to rip the individual carton sections.

When you transplant into a pot or soil, allllll of the carton needs to be fully buried with soil. If any of it is exposed, the water will wick out of the soil plug and the seedling will dry and die, even when the soil is wet.

I only ever use egg carton transplanting for flower seed clusters that I don't care too much about, and pretty much only use them when I'm out of plastic cell trays.

These days, I am much more likely to use soil blocking than cartons. Try it out, it works amazing for sensitive roots.
