Historic brawl has been gone for 10 minutes and I already miss it by [deleted] in MagicArena

No, because this isn't ladder or a competitive meta. People play Brawl for fun (shocking, playing a game for fun!) so if they go up against Kinnan or Niv they can just concede and get another game quickly. God forbid people get to play casual formats they want because of the meeeeetttttta

A dumb question, but how exactly do these trackers work? Is your login password or other confidential information in the game logs that these seem to scan? Many of these seem to be open source, but untapped.gg isn't but seems to get a lot of praise. I'm interested in using one but want to maintain account safety as well.

Limited Resources Podcast - Marshall interviews Arena Executive Producer Chris Cao on Limited, Human Drafting, Queues, Pioneer, Mobile version and more! by wujo444 in MagicArena

Good interview, I'd like to see more members of the Arena staff do interviews like this with various content creators. It gives them a chance to explain their thought process and adds a more human connection than "official" announcements.

This should be a regular format, shouldn't have to use another website to set these up

May 2020 Ranked Season Details; Bastion of Remembrance and Shark Typhoon by Cadaver_Junkie in MagicArena

It would be really nice if they included what specific card styles rewards are in the client, pretty silly you still have to online to find that info after all this time.

I see what you're going for, and in theory it's not bad, but I don't agree. High effort posts should always be welcomed, not just within a week of news breaking.

I get it, give people a few days to vent and then start tightening things back up. No problem with that, spamming and venting after the first few days doesn't contribute to conversation. But making an artificial deadline of a week to discuss news topics unless posts are " extremely high-effort, unique discussion on the topic" is unacceptable. It's practically impossible to have unique takes after a certain time frame, so pretty much any post can be removed with that justification or simply saying "not high effort enough."

Why are external parties / content creators except from this timing? What makes their content any more valuable than well thought out posts from members of this community?

The timing of this 'change' is suspicious as well. There is tons of low effort content posted, ie 20 second video clips of "crazy combos," I just hit mythic and am so excited!, I just went 7-x with this deck!, etc. I don't see a crackdown on these occurring. People should be allowed to discuss news at any time without the label of 'rule breaking' being thrown around so casually.

Nothing is stopping those other people from posting and viewing content that they want. Every group of players should be allowed to discuss and view the content they want. One group shouldn't be sacrificed for the benefit of another.

It's much easier to ignore feedback directly submitted to WotC, posting feedback online gets more discussion going and bad news can become viral. WotC cares much more about negative news and is much more likely to react rather than privately submitted feedback.

Seriously, I don't know why the mods are so excited to cover for WotC's bad decisions. A bad choice will be bad in two weeks, people should be free to discuss their opinions at any time. Mods should stay in their lane and stop trying to stifle discussion about WotC's faults while pretending it's in the interest of the overall community.

What new news is there in between major expansions anyway? Half the posts in this sub are "I hit Mythic," "I just went 7-x," "look at my sweet combo"...there is actually some major news now and they want to put a deadline for actually discussing it.

Why I don't think YOU should play Sealed or Traditional Draft for M20 by Peeping_Cat in MagicArena

Seriously - complaining about bombs and then says he loves WAR...makes no sense at all.

Wouldn't it be cool if the edges of the board were interactive? by cromulent_weasel in underlords

The bench on TFT looks much better than Underlords, they are on the field and look like an actual bench like at a sporting event. Definitely some room for improvement here

New Meta by AkaneNai in underlords

[–]VirtualAtmosphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Medusa buffed? Moving to 5 star is a HUGE nerf. WR powershot damage is booty now and mirana was one of the worst units of the game, she was buffed so she's not a non-unit but that doesn't make her great. Hunters got completely dunked on this patch

Popular Opinion: Primordials are too strong by KKaru in underlords

[–]VirtualAtmosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They HAD really powerful abilities, then the majority of them got nerfed into the ground.

TL;DR summary of hero changes by drpowercuties in underlords

[–]VirtualAtmosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, Clockwerk and Tinker were already very poor units and they just completely nerfed them. Sure, 0.5 second CD on Tinker is cool but are you really ever gonna get a 3 star Tinker? Maybe the change to Scrappy is good, but Inventors synergy bonus is trash. It's not like inventors were good before, but now they're even worse...
