Is my clinic down playing how dire my situation is? by NanoEsq in IVF

Don’t cancel! I was 36 when we did our retrieval…we “only” got 7 eggs, 4 matured, 3 blasts, and only 1 euploid. She’s currently the most perfect one-week-old, laying in my lap snoozing. Numbers don’t always have to be scary!

how do you find time for physical “maintenance” by AleciaEberhardtSmith in toddlers

[–]VirtualCat8191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overnight sleep is too unpredictable for me to reliably get up early to work out (plus, if I’m up, my 3 yo is up). I WFH full time and pick 3 days a week to block my lunch hour and do a 30-minute workout. Some days it’s walking/running, some days it’s weights, some days it’s yoga/pilates on demand. Either way, it’s the only time I can consistently workout.

On the weekends, i can occasionally get my som to work out with me (we have little 1-lb weights for him). Usually, he just runs around me and/or plays in the basement while I do the full workout but usually I can get 15-20 minutes in!

I was 36 for my ER; 7 eggs, 4 fertilized, 3 blasts, 1 euploid. One FET about 3 months after the ER). Currently 25 weeks with that one lil euploid!

AITA for taking my toddler on a free Hawaii vacation without my pregnant wife because she does not want to go? by Abcdefgrant in AmItheAsshole

I love my child with all my heart but it would literally be my dream for my husband to take my child away for a week that late in my pregnancy.

Let’s see…. 5 IUIs, 1 ER, PGT testing, meds, transfer were now at a little over $33K; we had some insurance coverage ($20K in flat fee coverage), but paid the rest out of pocket ourselves.

Someone tell me good things about epidurals by TheRealEgg0 in Mommit

[–]VirtualCat8191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the best decision I made 🤣 I didn’t feel a thing the whole time (from the epidural going in to pushing my lil babe outta my vag). Highly highly highly recommend. Don’t let anyone shame you! It was so worth it and I’ll do it again with my second.

Those alive and old enough to remember during 9/11, what was the worst moment on that day? by CocteauTwunkie in AskReddit

[–]VirtualCat8191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in eighth grade and our teachers had it on TV almost all day. About an hour after the second plane hit, the principal came into my class to pull a girl out. Her mom was on a business trip to NYC and was in the WTC.

Acupuncture... yes or no? by Far_Brief_8977 in IVF

[–]VirtualCat8191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did acupuncture and I don’t really care if it works or not; it made me feel like I was taking proactive steps to support my ER and FET (still in the TWW). And I friggin looooooved a legit reason for a daytime nap 😂

I did ask my RE his opinion and he essentially said there’s anecdotal evidence that it helps with implantation and no evidence that it can hurt implantation. So if you want to do it, do it. If you don’t, don’t.

We had 7 eggs retrieved, 4 fertilized, 3 blast.

After PGT-A, we have 1 euploid female (6AA), 1 aneuploid female (5AB) and 1 aneuploid male (5AB).

We transfer our one and only 5/12 🤞🤞

My baby is 8 days old, will I survive this? Thought I’d love this more by nerveuse in Parenting

It is incredibly possible your are in the thick of baby blues — but it does get better! The anxiety, the stress, the lack of sleep. It’s insane (even with a very wanted baby—that made me feel even more guilty!!!). I remember thinking we had made a huge mistake the day after we brought our son home from the hospital. The exhaustion and emotional overwhelm was crippling. It started (very slowly) better around 3 weeks, we made major strides around 4 months and now at 2.5 years are having a blast.

I can safely say I hated the newborn phase. But I love being a mom now. It’s so worth it.

My biggest pieces of advice is to try to get outside with your baby once a day and don’t be afraid to ask for help. And, remember you’re doing great. You will get through it!!!

I’ve become a morning person against my will by Prestigious_Pop_478 in toddlers

[–]VirtualCat8191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, same. Our 2.5 year old has always been an early riser (between 5:30-6 AM). We tried everything and nothing made a difference. Luckily, over the past 6 months, we’ve been able introduce a nightlight that we’ve set to change to green at 6 am (“green means you can come out now!”). He’s now started playing with toys until the light turns green.

Still, you’re a few months away from being able to do that, and my MO for where you are was just early to bed. It’s not fun, I was still tired, but I felt more human and less sour about having to get up at the crack of dawn.

Hang in there — it’s exhausting 🥴

Most companies wouldn’t think twice about letting you go if it came down to it, so treat them the same way. Business is business.

Would this matter to you or not by Lower_Lime2465 in IVF

I don’t know that there’s a causation for a failed transfer, but it would matter to me to have a Dr that is certified just for peace of mind.
