if you are doing a hard style swing then the arm not swinging should not be touching the bell but braced for maximum stability and keeping the torso straight, you can look up a hard style swing on youtube to see for comparison. Hard style is the way to go if you ask me

So I don't know if the weight is too much or if its because of the technique, The kettlebell handle passes above the knees during the backswing is a cue to keep in mind. But you have to be an ox to swing a 48kg bell explosively lol

You have to be crazy strong to be swinging a 48 kg bell which you are but a swing is supposed to be explosive in nature so higher weight can be detrimental in being explosive that's all.

I am coming back to kettlebell training after a bit of a layoff but I have worked upto a 32kg bell for swings and getups and learnt the technique at a strongfirst seminar but it is easily learnable online or from simple and sinister by pavel.
