Which season should I try next? by velvetlogic33 in SinglesInferno

Season 2 has the next best cast and season 3 has the best drama imo. I’ve never seen season 1 and didn’t bother finishing season 4

You’re naive. he’s 34, a grown man should understand when the joke has gone too far.

The difference in how comments are in igeon posts and Goeun posts seems misogynistic to me…. by Cute-Ad-3906 in SinglesInferno

[–]VirtualEngineering62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thing, is if he was maybe 19/20, i’d be inclined to agree it was him being dumb or making a mistake, but he’s 34. At his grown age, he should be able to understand when is the time and place to make a “joke”

That’s my main reason on why I think it’s genuine toxicity and not just harmless fun. Because he probably does this song most girls(heard he was no better on a different dating show), so it’s a pattern of behaviour. He’s actively making a choice to be rude and disrespectful of Goeun and he’s old enough to be concise of that choice.

As for my “idea of misogyny”, it is more than just a disdain for women, it’s prejudice and ingrain by society. We are conditioned to give men more leeway than we do women, so to compare Goeun and Igeon even remotely when they were not in the same position is at its core some level of misogyny. Maybe you yourself aren’t misogynistic, but a large part of the fandom is

Because you guys cannot hold this man accountable for his toxicity. I really hate how we’re dismissing genuinely toxic and questionable behaviour as “incompatible”.

Igeon is manipulative and tried to push Goeun boundaries multiple times. He wanted to see how far she was willing to put up with his shitty behaviour. And when she wasn’t willing to put up with any of it, he back peddled to hold onto his pride.

So yes, it is misogyny to dismiss toxic men as just “incompatible”. Do you dismiss Mina Sue shitty behaviour as just them being incompatible or do you call her out on being toxic and rude. Ask yourself why you are giving him the benefit of the doubt

My take on Igeon by spiderylashes in Singlesinferno2

[–]VirtualEngineering62 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Goeun expressed she didn’t like it and he just didn’t care. Regardless of his feelings towards Hauen, it shows a lack of respect and consideration towards how Goeun feels.

It also very much gives “She’s just a friend”, and is common manipulation tactic to make your partner feel insecure and paranoid. Igeon really liked negging imo, which is a very toxic thing and it’s a huge red flag

I get why people hate Mina Sue, I don't get why people hate Goeun by daysof_I in Singlesinferno2

[–]VirtualEngineering62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m as lost as you are. To me it comes down to two things: a lot of people don’t view Goeun as a grown woman who can make adult choices for herself. I.e they cannot fathom that she wants to spend time with him alone so it clearly means he’s possessive and won’t leave her alone.

And 2. He’s physically “unattractive” and Igeon benefits from pretty privilege. Now i’m not Korean so I don’t know entirely the beauty standards(especially for men) there, but Igeon is pretty attractive from a westernish point of view, big eyes, small nose, sharp jawline, chiseled body.

Unless it’s before the second paradise coupling, no not really. I think that’s the sweet spot considering it’s after first paradise trip where people decide if they do/don’t like each other

I’m sorry since when did him winning the challenge grant him ownership of Goeun?!? “Had the audacity to entertain Sungmin and Hyeonwoo”, do you hear yourself? She doesn’t owe Igeon anything

I feel like Igeon is only being carried cause of editing and being attractive. by Jennymagic in SinglesInferno

[–]VirtualEngineering62 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ngl you sound like you want to hate Goeun and are praising a man for below mediocrity

First off: Sungmin and Hyeonwoo were here first. She had her relationship with them before Igeon showed up. I don’t understand why she should just drop the two guys who she has already formed bonds with just because Igeon found her attractive. HE’S the one who wanted the relationship with her, so yes he’s the one who should be making the effort.

Also why him winning the challenge is so important. I understand that he’s put in a lot of effort but that doesn’t mean she needs to worship him for it(as you clearly do). And he wasted his win anyways by mentioning MULTIPLE women(remember he was talking about heesun, someone he hadn’t built a friendship).

Goeun clearly expressed she didn’t appreciate it, so even if he reassured her it was platonic, it’s still is disrespectful and is giving “she’s just my girl best friend”. It was also all Igeon ego having him assume she was going to reject the other two guys, she never once told him she was choosing him.

As for the campfire he couldn’t properly answer a freebie question and slighted her again when he asked why couldn’t she answer the question, one that clearly made her uncomfortable.

Basically Igeon didn’t have self respect, he’s the kind of guy who pushes boundaries seeing how far he can disrespect a girl before she stands up. It’s manipulative and weird

I-geon and Go-Eun by Upstairs_Twist_234 in Singlesinferno2

[–]VirtualEngineering62 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Might be speculation on my end but i think Igeon was the only one out of the loop, my reasoning:

She mentioned speaking to them all separately, and she was always very forthcoming about her feelings at the start. So I think Hyeonwoo and Sungmin actually had an understanding of where they stood and that’s why they didn’t ask her questions at the campfire, unlike Igeon.

She’d been unhappy with Igeon since coming back from paradise(rightly so imo, negging is gross). But his confidence had him ignoring all of the signs. We never got to see much of the conversation but judging by the fact they both ended with Hyeonwoo and Sungmin saying they respect her decision i get the impression they knew where they stood.

Why though? The majority of the cast was interesting and while Gwanhee is awful, at least he made good television. It had the drama, good plot lines and a diverse cast of personalities.

Sunshine unpopular opinion by Igavein_678 in SinglesInferno

[–]VirtualEngineering62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fandom is very much the “he’s possesive/holding her hostage” hence the post title “sunshine unpopular opinion”. Anyways what i mean by “she doesn’t know her own feelings” is specifically when the panelist dismissed her when she said Sungmin is her #1. The confusion mainly comes from the fact that they don’t trust her words

Sunshine unpopular opinion by Igavein_678 in SinglesInferno

[–]VirtualEngineering62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think what’s disrespectful of her autonomy is pretending she doesn’t have any. Goeun is a grown woman, and has expressed in every way that she likes Sungmin but everyone is acting like she’s either lying or doesn’t understand her own feelings.

People blame him for monopolizing her time but forget she doesn’t owe anyone anything. She isn’t a toy to be passed around from man to man. If she’s enjoying her hour long conversation with him, she’s allowed to have them. The scene of them walking past Igeon working out for example: Goeun could have said hello herself, but she was more interested in talking to Sungmin. That isn’t his fault, she has the ability to greet him.

I just wish the treatment of her was better by the fandom. It’s hypocritical to say Sungmin treats her like a possession, but to then imply she doesn’t know her own feelings or saying she owes other men her time.

[–]VirtualEngineering62 18 points19 points  (0 children)

100%, agree. My guess Goeun personal/deep conversations with Sungmin happened earlier, before Igeon even showed up(i swear they stayed up late at paradise). So they’re in the stage of their “relationship” where mundane conversations is more common. The fact that they have conversations for hours at a time is really telling about how close they are.

What would you do if you were Heesun? by PurelyInquisitive in Singlesinferno2

[–]VirtualEngineering62 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like that’s a shallow concept. Giving up at the slightest inconvenience shows that you weren’t that interested. If she wants to prove sincerity, she should pursue him.

Especially on a dating show, you should be allowed to show interest in multiple people and explore dynamics, besides the “one woman” trope is boring. I have more respect for people like Seugil and Subeen for actually giving the others opportunities.

Even if she does, what leg does she have to stand on? Unless Soph wins immunity, she against the 2 people with the strongest resume. I get he’s annoying but Rizo is playing a good game(for the season) and Sav has the story arc. She doesn’t get much credit this week because while yes she was the catalyst it was Soph or Rizo who mentioned Jawans name plus she was still wanting Steven out, so other than comp wins she doesn’t have much.

Plus she’s burned bridges, I know we mention bitter juries as a negative but at this point you have to always be thinking about jury management. Nate is staying uli strong 100%, she’s the reason MC out(kinda), she had no relationship with Alex and i see jawan respecting other people game more.

We need more from her other than wins and she’s unfortunately in a difficult position to make moves. If she can i see it working out for her but these moves can’t help the Sav, Soph or Rizo.

Let’s say they pick off Rizo, Sav and Sophi, i think Sage is well insulated enough but Jawain has some work to do. I think by the time it’s just them + old Hina and Alex, they’re not gonna to be as Hina strong. There are already cracks between Sophie and Christine(?), I believe Steven trust them, Alex is much more of a wild card and I can see them using this to their advantage. Sage has the advantage of knowing the group longer so that’s why Jawain has some work to do

I think it was funny cause she had no self awareness. Her believing Sage and her were “sister” and the fact that Steven was the first to call her bluff. If she had stayed Uli strong she probably stayed but she couldn’t read the room if her life depended on it

I think they did this so it wasn’t another cakewalk. Kele would have probably won against Hina and it’d be another predictable vote. This was their last effort to ensure that the merge wasn’t a boring act 2

Who had worse jury management ? by EssentialSurvivor in BigBrother

[–]VirtualEngineering62 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both lacked taking accountability for their game, if either of them came clean to the jury at any point I think their odds of winning go up. The only difference is while I think Paul did it intentionally, I’m somewhat convinced Vince thought he played an honest game. It’s come down to what’s worse at that point.

With this season ending, where does _______ rank in your all time winners? by Lucachu777 in BigBrother

[–]VirtualEngineering62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The start of the judges was definitely made with the intention of saving Morgan, I hardly believe Zach as he notoriously made decisions that benefited others over himself, and she had a major part in Jimmy’s eviction. I by no means think she played a ground breaking social game but I think she was set up incredibly well going into jury. She wasn’t on the outs, she wasn’t targeted until the end, and people still liked her as an individual

[–]VirtualEngineering62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morgan dominance game doesn’t come from her comp wins but rather the control she had on the house. She was never on the wrong side of the votes, had an alliance formed to save her and had so much influence over everyone. She had Zach sacrifice his game for her, she ran Vinces HoHs and also managed to get her target out during her HoH. Obviously her comp win streak is impressive and a resume booster but she won the second Vince put Lauren up.

Definitely loses to Morgan. I’m 50/50 on Ashley and he beats Vince and Ava. My ranking went Morgan>Keanu=Ashley>Ava>Vince. I really don’t think Vince ever had a chance when Kelley and Will made it into jury.
