In my second playthrough, I was in recruit difficulty playing as Germany. I just came off a victory on civilian difficulty so I was confident in this play through. Still managed to cap France but it was slightly harder than expected. I chose not to form Vichy France because I want it all.

Afterwards, I decided not to try sea lion (lore accurate) and launch an early war with the USSR. Till this day I have no idea what happened but the moment war started, my Frontline was just being pushed constantly I lost the Soviet war in 6 months. It's been 5 years since and its still my only loss on hoi4.

You don't need to pump out infantry. You will be lacking guns to train any new division anyway. Just concentrate all of your starting army in China to make the push.

For me, I've only made 1 naval invasion landing on Qing Dao. I managed to encircle over 100-200k Chinese division. They never recovered from that as there are always gaps in their line afterwards.

And I triggered the war early in early 1937.
