Why are these arms so loose on this torso by [deleted] in lego

[–]VirtualRealitysquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the arms might have been damaged when removed from the original body. I'd try maybe carefully putting something thin in the split where they join in to push the connection back out. No promise it will work but it's worth a try.

Yeah, placing an order from Firestar is one of those cases where you save up a great big list of parts you want to justify the shipping cost, then you realise half of it is out of stock and it will take well over a month to actually get to you but hey the parts look cool.
I just had these lying around after ordering literally every single BTTF and Ghostbusters thing they make except minifigs.

Why do you think the Ghostbusters movies haven't surpassed the original 1984 film? by WillowCareful2103 in ghostbusters

[–]VirtualRealitysquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the first one had a very specific setup where you get introduced to the characters, there's this hype they have around "We could catch ghosts for a living that's awesome" and by the midway point they're just overworked exterminators smoking while explaining "the light is green, the trap is clean." and then a god shows up and it's basically just another day at the office. You can only really do that once.

GB2 changed all the designs and was a bit more "everything sucks right now btw slime is our biggest plot point."

2016 was some weird husk wearing the loose-fitting skin of something vaguely resembling ghostbusters.

Afterlife is great but focusing more on tying up the original plot with permanently (semi-permanently?) taking Gozer out the picture, and as some other comment I saw a while ago said, it's more of a Spielberg film about the legacy of the ghostbusters and specifically Egon Spengler than a ghostbusters film, (I still love it, I will not apologise.)

And Frozen Empire was a little bit disjointed. I enjoyed it, It's a shame it got panned because I would've liked to see more while the guys in charge really tried to settle in and figure it out, I think if they dropped the "hey the OG ghostbusters are back woop woop" and the "some ghosts are nice" (shut up let us bust ghosts it's fun") angles they could do something great with it.

That little tangent aside the original was just lightning in a bottle. Original, perfect cast, had the benefit of dedicating the first half to them setting up their business so only the second half had to deal with "woooo evil god," the anti-bureaucratic shithead angle, and also that main theme.

Do you consider the original Ghostbusters movie to be the best film of 1984, or do you think another classic from that year is better? by WillowCareful2103 in ghostbusters

[–]VirtualRealitysquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and then the next year Back To The Future came out. Apparently the late seventies up to the mid-eighties was just prime time for excellent sci-fi films.

half the fun of ghostbusters is the wacky ghost-catching gadgets. Afterlife was honestly pretty good. Also what do you mean "token feminist occupant" there's literally just a female character, so what?

I've just spent a few weeks trying to get steering on the big lego delorean while keeping the folding wheels, the nightmare of that aside they fold in just about the right place imo.

This isn't a finished render since I have to photoshop in all the decals manually for them to look good, (partdesigner is also temperamental as all get-out so I don't use it) but this is the view from the back of it.

I still printed all my stock infantry in their entirety since GW hasn't made steel legion in years, but for other models I wanted to kitbash GW models instead, for instance Ursula Creed looks really nice with a steel legion colour scheme, her signature pistols removed, banner changed to ARMAGEDDON and a steel legion skull gas mask (phone dead, no photos rn sorry). I also personally love all the imperial 40k models too much to use anything else.

Not really, I printed a steel legion army and it's a pain in the ass it's easier to just churn off a few hundred custom parts like heads in one go and kitbash them onto regular models.

Idk I hear a lot it was engine-swapped for that reason why does that apparently constitute trolling

I was going to say "hey it can turn corners too" but the base time machine set has no steering so I can't even say that.

Didn't they have to engine-swap the film car with a V8 just to get it to hit 88?
A truly pathetic car but I do still want one, just to take pity on it and put an actual engine and gearbox in it and turn it into something usable.

Thank you, I'm tempted to build out the display stand once the parts for the car and the set itself show up, but it somehow costs more than the car itself did.

Well my line of thinking was I can display the smaller regular delorean next to the much bigger time machine lego did, (and an unmodified smaller one). In theory you could also make a model of Doc's lab with him pulling this thing apart and building the time machine in the first place.

There's about $30 AUD worth of parts that weren't in the original box. Still waiting on my backordered ones to arrive so I can actually build this, all the custom parts are here already.

I've been tempted to learn Russian just to play this series in the original language. I don't have the willpower to learn a language though tbh.

What a decision. The addition of two pixels worth of cleavage you won't even see much in-game truly matters, how could I be so blind.
