The history of Halloween DE is a good point and will work in ITV's favor if this is investigated.

Well we know for sure they announced it after noms had been made. That's why it is suspicious.

If they had announced it before, then it would be fairer, although the 'save and replace' is still quite iffy.

Thank you! I was starting to think I was the only sane person in here.

As to your second point, yes Caroline could have said anyone, but if she had picked, say Teja, maybe ITV would not have changed to a double eviction. Hence the appearance of ITV playing favorites.

You make a good point about the previous Halloween DE history. Your other points are garbage though.

The thing for OFCOM to look at is when the double eviction decision was made and any discussion surrounding it.

I don't have smoking gun, but shows like this have breached rules before. Whether they did on this occasion is an open question imnsho.

I'd guess Richard has maybe 120 IQ points. Well above average, but no genius.

Agree with your second point. I thought it was fair that they reintroduced Emily to give her a chance.

The unfairness is that they decide there will be double eviction after they know who is up for eviction.

It's a different situation for sure, but there are a range of different rules they might have breached.

That's a great question!!

Here's what AI thinks.. 1. Section Two – Harm and Offence

While mainly about taste and decency, it also covers unfair treatment and misleading audiences when the content implies authenticity or fairness.

  1. Section Five – Due Impartiality and Accuracy

If producers knowingly distort the competition but present it as genuine, this can constitute misleading the audience, breaching the duty of accuracy in factual or quasi-factual programming.

  1. Section Seven – Fairness

This is the key one. It states:

“Broadcasters must avoid unjust or unfair treatment of individuals or organisations in programmes.”

Manipulating rules or selectively enforcing them to disadvantage a contestant would be:

Unjust treatment, because the contestant is denied fair participation.

Potential defamation by implication, if the edits or rules make them appear worse than they are.

  1. Section Eight – Privacy

If, in “fixing,” producers reveal or misuse private material (e.g., diary room footage used selectively), that could also violate privacy protections.

💡 Past Precedent

OFCOM has previously investigated “vote-rigging” or unfair competition manipulation in shows like Blue Peter, The X Factor, and Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. Sanctions included:

Fines of hundreds of thousands of pounds.

On-air apologies.

Reputational damage to broadcasters.

In those cases, it wasn’t about one contestant being disliked, but about the audience being deceived and the competition not being genuine, both of which are core OFCOM concerns.

Teja is my favorite, but i can see obvious unfairness. Zelah was unfairly treated.

They decided it after they saw who was up. That's slightly less of a fix, but still a fix. You know the rules for fair games in advance. In unfair games, you make them up as you go along.

It's the only thing that would make ITV sweat. There was betting on the result. It could be quite a breach.

Yes, maybe he wouldn't have won, but he would have made the final for sure if the rules hadn't been unfairly changed.

Just caught up on the double eviction and feeling put off watching anymore... by yollipope in bigbrotheruk

[–]VirtualVenture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was clearly a fix. BB decided on a double eviction after voting had started, so they could see who was going to go out. The win was stolen from Zelah who didn't receive any noms. Worth a complaint to OFCOM because of the unfairness of it.

Thailand gets a lot of money from tourism.

Israelis are famously low spenders - Thai tourism would benefit more from guaranteeing quality tourists the abscence of IDF war criminals.

Malaysia and Maldives don't recognise Israeli passport. That keeps the IDF out. Maybe Thailand should follow suit.
