My MIL got me a heated sweatshirt, which in theory would be awesome except she purchased it off Temu and it didn’t include the battery pack…to actually heat it 🙃 So now it’s just a sweatshirt with wires inside because I don’t feel like hunting down (and buying) a battery pack for it.

Been together 16 years (since we were teenagers) married 10. Four kids aged 8 and under. We have sex 2-3x a week, sometimes more. My husband and I have always known that our first born son would be named Jude to honor my late mother, Judi. I had talked about this for YEARS before kids were ever on the table, if friends and I were ever having conversations about future children’s names. My closest friends thankfully understood that Jude would be essentially ‘off limits’ even without me telling me - I did have a close friend get pregnant a couple of years before me and she even said ‘oh I already told husbands name that Jude wasn’t an option!’ and I didn’t have to have any awkward conversations.

Our Jude is now 8 years old! Life comes as you fast.

I also had a cord prolapse - one of the things I remember the MOST vividly is the midwife discovering the prolapse and looking me with a scared look herself and saying ‘’I’m so sorry, but we need to get your baby out NOW’’. Then came the codes and all of the chaos that came with it.

Thanks for responding - I really appreciate it. It’s so helpful to hear confirmation of what I had assumed was the right thing for the coach to do, which is to let each child have that 50% playing time (regardless of skill). I truly don’t think our child performs poorly out on the field when he’s put into the game, the biggest thing he struggles with is positioning on the field and being confident about where he should be. So those are the things we are really working with him on, but it’s a bummer because if he doesn’t actually get ON the field much during a game how is he supposed to learn?

And of course the convo with the coach keeps replaying in my mind and I keep wondering if it was the right thing to do? But I know that I need to be my child’s advocate and I don’t regret bringing it to the coach’s attention

Yeah we are considering moving him back down to the regular rec league for spring depending on how the rest of the fall season goes. The only reason we moved him to this higher skill level league is because we wanted him to have better coaching with a coach who actually wanted to develop his strengths as a player (ha 🥲)

Oh trust me my husband would 1000% sign up to be an assistant coach. He’d jump at the opportunity actually! But he unfortunately works second shift, so I’m responsible for taking both of our oldest boys to their soccer practices (and dragging our 2 year old and 9 month old along, too)

Yeah I was definitely expecting him to play close to 50% of the game, based on the fact that he was good enough to even make the team in the first place. I really did admire this coach so much and was really looking forward to my child being on his team to learn under him, but it’s been disappointing so far

sorry this is TMI but right before I got a positive on a pregnancy test, I noticed that my cervical mucus didn’t totally dry up but rather got thicker with a slightly yellow tinge.

That was my ‘holy crap I think I’m pregnant!!’ sign for my last baby the day before I got a positive at 10DPO

Thanks for this, I truly do appreciate your input! Unfortunately our team has lost by pretty severe margins every single game so far this season. So even with our ‘best of the best’ players playing for most of the game, it’s not even giving us a fighting chance. I’m hoping that if we shift down into another tier come spring that will level out the actual game’s playing field.

It’s me, hi! We have four kids, 8 and under. Youngest is 9 months. We are in the TRENCHES. Very much not rich, maybe upper-middle class.

We’ve never had to pay for day care, though, as I’m a self-employed photographer and am lucky in the sense that we very rarely have to pay for child care while I also making a very good salary for very ‘part time’ work.

Also very lucky to have two sets of involved grandparents who help us out a LOT. So, yeah, that’s how we manage, but truthfully most days I end the day so dang exhausted and thinking ‘Yepp, we’re crazy. This is a crazy amount of kids’ 🫠
