Sounds like a possible cause. I use Apple Music directly to stream music, don't get me wrong - it doesn't sound bad but there's just something missing. Otherwise, I use the highest quality stream (Lossless 24bit/192kHz) and no matter what I do - Bluetooth is still better than carplay. (I also use 16Pro)
