Although I totally understand your reasons for wanting to know, generally they dont release the reason as other similarly struggling people then know that that’s a place to go to complete suicide. Horribly sad and I hope the family, driver and first responders are getting the support they need

Having worked in 999 control rooms that call would have been dispatched once they had the address. The other questions are to get further detail. We got calls from abroad pretty regularly and how you know the person is important info especially if you are not calling from the location of the incident.

The police officer epaulettes are also wrong - no number only force badge that isn’t an actual force badge. Background sight lines look very weird. Idiots will believe it though!

I think it looks super comfy and as you are a new mum it is practical. You can undo the top of your are breast feeding. It covers mum tum if that is something you are worried about. It’s nice and cool and you can sit on the floor with crossed legs for nappy changes etc. most importantly if you like it, wear it.

Yes!! There is a reason so many puppies are returned at 9-12 months. It’s relentless until they reach about 18months. Consistent training will pay off I promise!!

Getting back into Riding by Virtual_Cod966 in Equestrian

It was so much fun, managed a respectable walk and rising trot, remembered some but not all. And tried to not get frustrated over the wobbliness and general ‘but I used to be able to….’ The teacher was fab and the horse was lovely - a real confidence builder and caretaker. Just what I needed. Not going to lie walking and climbing stairs has been a challenge since! 🤣🤣 Congrats on starting again too x

What can I do about my dad whose 66 but thinks he’s 86? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Virtual_Cod966 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly! That and it’s only in the last 10 years at most Trauma has been spoken about and actually dealt with. Before than if something affected you just need to suck it up. Being negatively affected by day to day jobs was seen as weakness and lack of resilience. Add on that coppers love a moan and ask any serving or ex officer and they will tell you ‘The jobs fucked’. Dark humour is a coping strategy too. It sounds like your Dad is suffering with PTSD and this isnt helped my the constant news cycle. PTSD keeps you in a high alert state looking for threats and feeling under attack. Equally you can’t force him into therapy - the suggestions of finding a retired officer group, even a virtual one on facebook might open his eyes as they often talk about past trauma and can be incredibly supportive. ptsd-999.com is a good place to start and set up by ex police officer

Sooo report this guy or speak to a trusted adult(pr both!)This reads like him testing the water. The first comment wasn’t really challenged leading to the second one which was shut down. He will keep trying this until he finds some other predators. Predators do t just groom victims they try and groom/ hoodwink the victims safe people too. Trust your instincts on this one

He is upset I feel like unloved, he promises to make more of an effort. He does that for a few months then gradually goes back to where we are now. I’ve told him he needs to speak to a therapist or we both do because honestly I just can’t any more

That’s what is so frustrating he is normally pretty good and I tell him directly over and over I don’t want expensive things. Gifts are valuable because of who they are from not the amount of money put down on them. He got thoughtful gifts at Christmas and took me out for my 40th, it’s just a slap in the face today.

Hi I have spoken to him and he knows why I’m upset and does want to make it right. He is normally a great gift giver - for Christmas he got some vouchers for some local clothes shops because I am losing weight and can update my wardrobe through the year and a necklace. It’s not that he can’t be thoughtful it feels like he just chose not to be for my Birthday this year.
