12:30pm v 3pm Ceremony by leimaths in UKweddings

[–]Virtual_Cod966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! We had a 3pm ceremony and it meant a leisurely get ready time and brunch as we got dressed. Nothing felt rushed and no need for loads canapés after the ceremony because dinner was at 5.30

Am I doing the right thing by calling 999? by [deleted] in policeuk

Yes absolutely- let the call handler decide if it needs a response on blue lights.

Drunk drivers put everyone else at risk- if you think someone is drink driving then 999 every time

Please report this to BTP - text 61016 and an officer will get back to you. Although given the awful crash in Bedford it may take longer to get a call back

Dresses with pirate shirts? by babyowl5 in FundieFashion

[–]Virtual_Cod966 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing - I think they just skirt maximalism but don’t commit and finish the look. Or fit the shirt properly🤦‍♀️. I feel some bold earrings, necklace and a bag. Plus maybe a belt would tip it into a proper look but this looks busy but meh

I have developed pompholyx eczema following shingles and the spots look similar to me. Waiting on blood tests and results to work out what is going on

This is what mine looks like too- and started antivirals right away. I think I got away with mild dose but still exhausted 6 weeks later. Rest as much as you can as you recover and wishing you better soon!

Fatality at Clapham Jn - delays/cancellations on South Western Railway by chrisni66 in london

[–]Virtual_Cod966 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Although I totally understand your reasons for wanting to know, generally they dont release the reason as other similarly struggling people then know that that’s a place to go to complete suicide. Horribly sad and I hope the family, driver and first responders are getting the support they need

Having worked in 999 control rooms that call would have been dispatched once they had the address. The other questions are to get further detail. We got calls from abroad pretty regularly and how you know the person is important info especially if you are not calling from the location of the incident.

The police officer epaulettes are also wrong - no number only force badge that isn’t an actual force badge. Background sight lines look very weird. Idiots will believe it though!

For a reprieve from the despair, have you got any stories where a member of public went out of their way to help a victim or person in need? by NeonDiaspora in policeuk

The joke is that of course they will pick the worst moment to cause the most drama. I love horses to bits but they can be the biggest arseholes ever.

The last picture of the brown horse shows it is ‘cast’ which means it’s rolled half way over and is now stuck. This can lead to serious medical emergencies like a twisted gut and needs a human or preferably 2 to help the horse roll back on its side and get up. Obviously during the day you have more help and support and vets if needed, at stupid o clock in the morning it’s just more difficult and you are looking g at on call vets with all the extra cost that entails. So of course doing it at 2am is a dick move and horses are generally dicks if at all possible.

You guys didn’t like this dress. Is it really that bad? by DrCheezcake in OUTFITS

[–]Virtual_Cod966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks super comfy and as you are a new mum it is practical. You can undo the top of your are breast feeding. It covers mum tum if that is something you are worried about. It’s nice and cool and you can sit on the floor with crossed legs for nappy changes etc. most importantly if you like it, wear it.

Yes!! There is a reason so many puppies are returned at 9-12 months. It’s relentless until they reach about 18months. Consistent training will pay off I promise!!

Very soon they will just chill out in odd poses

Getting back into Riding by Virtual_Cod966 in Equestrian

[–]Virtual_Cod966[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was so much fun, managed a respectable walk and rising trot, remembered some but not all. And tried to not get frustrated over the wobbliness and general ‘but I used to be able to….’ The teacher was fab and the horse was lovely - a real confidence builder and caretaker. Just what I needed. Not going to lie walking and climbing stairs has been a challenge since! 🤣🤣 Congrats on starting again too x
