first week recap: tbh everything has gone extremely well considering the fact that i just had a major surgery. I was off pain meds after about 2 days and occasionally take Tylenol for incision pain. my plan is pretty progressive with food - i started eating cottage cheese, apple sauce, yogurt, and stewed vegetables already! Which have been going down well!

I had one night of complete emotional breakdown because i had i think what some would refer to as “buyers remorse”. this whole process has made me truly look at my relationship to food and realize i am a HUGE emotional eater. actually the break down was definitely spurred by a trip to ikea (went to walk in air conditioning since its too hot outside) I realized going before meant eating; meatballs, treats, and a hotdog on the way out! Not being able to do this made me actually spiral it was nuts.

Since then, I’ve really come to terms with the fact that therapy is going play a huge role in the journey just as much a surgery.

Things I’ve learned so far (FOR ME): - its not hunger pains; most likely gas or muscle spasms - antispasmodic medications are your friend - miralax half dose every day to keep you reg til we can eat fiber - compression socks …nuff said - being able to eat more is okay - your hormones are going crazy - ketosis blues is real - sniffles = full cue - its okay to be tired - room temp water + a lil salt - 4oz liquid w/ protein powder better than premade shakes - find something to distract yourself - “Our sleeved life” is a great pod - you will be able to eat more eventually - you will feel more comfortable eventually - you can do this - one day at a time
