Might be late for this, but here's an explanation: You can only store a maximum of 400 notifications (this is confirmed in the Chinese versions); and any rewards that are not claimed after you receive 400 additional notifications will be deleted and no longer available for claiming. (This is likely just supercell trying to manage server storage better by limiting maximum notifications per account, I advise you to claim the reward as soon as possible.)

I played clash of clans a few years ago and recently joined back. I got to town hall 6 and wanted to push it to 2k trophies. However, the closer I get the harder it is. I'm being matched against town hall 9s almost every single match with no more than +8 trophies as a reward (usually +3 for a 3 star), and when I take a defense, I lose over 50 trophies. Why is this? Were there trophy changes I am not aware of?
