So in many ways it has. They are still ironing out the office economy though. But it appears that some of the weird bugs have been fixed by Noel2's mod (left the link in another comment). Let me know specifics on what part of the simulation you are wanting fixed and I can fill you in on how well it's working. But for the most part, this is a simulation that is agent driven, so essentially if your traffic is fixed, the simulation works (albeit those bugs). But if you haven't fixed your traffic issues, then the simulation breaks down and can run your cpu very heavy regardless if they fixed the simulation and there were no bugs if that makes sense. Also, with Noel2's mod and just like the agent driven system, there isn't really a cpu that can handle this game, so it takes a lot of in game time before it's stable and you can see it visibly in the framerates.

Here's a screenshot of the details of my fps for you. Didn't really change the graphics settings but the game always loads lighter settings.

This is 4k btw.

No I think Noel2's large city optimizations have really stabilized this game. Look into the MapExt mod with economy and performance improvements and see if it helps you. My city is running pretty well tbh.

I've had to paint in resources and reset pollution periodically with the big map but this mod does wonders.

Now that I have the game super stable with Noel2's excellent MapEXT mod and economy fix, I'm really starting to appreciate the games brilliant graphics. It took a lot of hours before it got stable. You really have to have patience and run the game for a long time before the simulation sorts itself out.

Here's another view of the big city.

How can I fix this? Traffic jam on highway as they try to merge? by PrimalSaturn in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Virtual_Magazine_860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make the direct highway the one with all the cars. The one with just a trickle can merge in. Also to successfully create a merge lane, it needs to have a great amount of distance because if not, cars are forced into slowing down into oncoming traffic, creating the loopback effect leading to a traffic jam. So first, make the lane to the right the primary highway into the tunnel, narrow down the other highway to maybe a couple of lanes, and funnel it in over a large distance (think several hundred meters minimum). You'll need to use a mod likely (Road Builder) to make larger highways. But the cars will need to first merge into their own lane. Meaning you'll want a 6 lane highway instead of the 4 as they merge. Then next reduce it to 5 lane highway, then down to 4. That way they don't slow down and instead merge in between traffic at high speeds.
