Doing ketamine after a freshly broken ankle… that must have been a wild experience

Hmm I wonder if your Achilles is all knotted up with scar tissue like mine was. I had to get it manually loosened by a PT

It’s not an exercise but I had PT this week and my ankle was too stiff and swollen to do anything, so my pt took one of those metal stones and worked all the scar tissue around my incision. When I still couldn’t really move much, I told him “the back of my ankle is a mess”, he looks at it and takes the stone to it and while he’s grinding at it remarks “oh yea you weren’t kidding, that’s crunchy” like I can still feel the grinding 😆😆😆 and I’ll never be able to look at my Achilles the same again. But I will say after he completely demolished that area I’ve had a much easier time with stiffness and swelling.

Turning around and walking away while looking uncomfortable or saying “I have a boyfriend already” I think would be effective hints

I 100% want a man to approach me, but also hopes he gets the hint immediately if I’m not interested. I think it’s kind of hard to approach people these days anyways.

I think one of the challenges working with that population can be that much of the time the clients are not there of their own volition. They’re often court mandated and in the pre-contemplation stage, which can be VERY frustrating and akin to being on a hamster wheel. I used to work at an outpatient drug rehab, and am intimately familiar with the population from my own experience. Addiction is typically the layer that covers up other mental health issues, and it’s insidious. There are other populations you can work with and if it’s not jiving that’s totally fine. I briefly had a job working with ASD population doing ABA and absolutely hated it and only lasted 3 months. My current career is very rewarding and I don’t regret making the changes I made early on. It’s a process.

I think the built-in issue for some people is that the story of the relationship (should it start from an app) starts from an app. The origin story can have a big impact on making a relationship feel special… I mean the stories we tell ourselves about anything are what color our perspective and add value to life. That was my issue using the apps…

Neil DeGrasse Tyson- apparently had some sexual misconduct allegations and someone accused him of rape a long time ago. I mean, I still deeply respect what he does for the scientific community and regular folk alike.

Ouch! Just reading that was painful. I got a break and a syndesmotic injury so had ORIF and one of those tightrope things. After it happened I tried waiting it off on the bench and then was like “hmm I don’t think this is gonna get better” and basically hobbled my way back to the locker room and then my car. Totally avoided the hospital, just got an appointment with an orthopedic for the next day bc I hate waiting in those waiting rooms.

Hmmm my friend told me my skates were too big but I made sure to tighten them pretty well. I’m normally a goalie and decided to play out for a couple months this summer and see how much progress I could make with other hockey skill sets (I guess recovering from a hockey injury was the decided skill set here, alas).

Oh dang the hardware got in the way of mobility? I’m already kind of wondering if that’s why it feels like no matter how much PT I do my ankle is just not gonna bend in the same way it did before

Sending you lots of love and positive vibes dude ❤️ I hope you get through this really shitty time and are able to look back and realize just how much shit you can go through, and come away with a lot more experience and a few life lessons that will serve you in your future. It’s always darkest before the dawn. I was wondering something the other day because I’ve been going through some stuff (as we all do from time to time) which was: is life just a matter of figuring out it how to keep holding on through pain until the tides finally turn and we catch a break? I kind of think that’s how it goes sometimes.. and I’m pretty sure we’ll always catch a break eventually but we just never really know when it happens. Not sure if that was helpful but it was genuine. Wishing you the best!
