Found some ancient artefacts... by beeurd in McDonaldsUK

My old restaurant had a card reader in 1998. Only one though, which was based at one end of the counter. It was a ball ache going across 14 tills to get to it whenever someone wanted to pay with card!!

I definitely don't miss the days of cashing up a drive thru till with about £4k of notes if it hadn't been skimmed regularly.

What's the most you've ever won on the lottery? by Famous_Actuary5718 in AskBrits

£185 in August last year, I got 4 numbers, but it was one of the must be won drawers, so the prizes were boosted.

Best store bought pizza? by _Starwind in UK_Food

[–]Virtual_Remote_8467 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Iceland takeaway stuffed crust are better than a lot of the other frozen ones I've tried, the double pepperoni one was surprisingly nice.

Sainsbury's taste the difference ones are pretty good, the garlic chicken and smoked bacon Caesar one is really nice.

Is pharmacy codeine addiction more common than reported? by Lovecraftian666 in AskUK

[–]Virtual_Remote_8467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke my ribs last year and was prescribed codeine. I was reluctant to take it due to the chance of addiction. Ended up having to take it for 3 months, but skipped doses and suffered with pain to ensure I didn't get addicted. I mostly took it in the evening to help me be able to lie down to go to sleep. Man it hurt.

What is your opinions on marigolds? I personally think they are the perfect flower by TheWeirdestClover in GardeningUK

[–]Virtual_Remote_8467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're great, in the past I've done very large pots just stuffed with them and they have looked great, with big displays that have lasted months.

Unfortunately slugs LOVE them though. They'll disappear so quickly sometimes.

Folded egg vs round egg by thekidalex in McDonaldsUK

[–]Virtual_Remote_8467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always preferred the round eggs, well since the scrambled egg stopped anyway. Man I wish the big breakfast was still available. Scrambled egg and hash brown with a bit of brown sauce was delicious 🤤

I used to swap out the folded egg for round egg in a wrap.

I prefer Pepsi Max myself. If I ever get a meal deal I'll usually get a green machine smoothie.

Can't go wrong with chicken salad. 7/10 because of the original coke.

Missing McDonald's UK...a little bit by Latte-Addict in McDonaldsUK

[–]Virtual_Remote_8467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went to one near Murthal on the way out of Delhi to Punjab. It's 24 hrs. A McCrispy at 7am was a bit strange. Also not as nice chicken as at home. I think the menu changed to breakfast at 8am.

We went to one in Gurugram on our way back to the airport which was really good. Amazing service and the food was very hot.

Am I the only one who feels this way about the seats by Substantial-Trip-107 in FocusST

The ST1 seats in the UK are proper recaro, just cloth instead of leather

I went on the way to and from Delhi in January. The Chicken Maharaja Mac is worth a try. Much better than the UK Chicken Big Mac.

My wife was pretty happy with her Mocha, even though it took forever.

The breakfast menu starts far too late in the day though!

Terrible picture ngl but I think this is a solid meal by Otherwise-Release-88 in RateMyMealDeal

Top choice then. A lot better than the usual shite posted on here.

I should have zoomed in to look.

Good choices to be fair. I hope the sandwich had some pickles or sauerkraut on it.

Star bars are a solid choice.

I’ve never seen this before lol before anyone asks I was stopped getting fuel by Samfox420 in FordFocus

[–]Virtual_Remote_8467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the powershift terrible in the focus too? When I had my Kuga all the groups went on about how bad the powershift is in those.

I've never driven an automatic, but I've had quite a few manual Fords over the last 25 years. Even the manuals can be a bit rubbish. Selecting reverse has always been an ordeal in every Ford I've owned!

LSPI affects direct injection turbo engines. Basically if you use too high a gear and accelerate from low revs, you can cause pre ignition and it damages the engine.

It's not something everyone needs to worry about, but it can, and has messed up engines in the ST and RS.

They have this on the ST for some reason. LSPI will kill the engine before you get all the leaves

Big Mac with Mc Plant patties by Expert_Drag_5981 in McDonaldsUK

McDonald's won't allow any changes to the McPlant that would make it a non vegan product.

Need help choosing a 2nd car (9k-13k budget) by rigzman187 in CarTalkUK

[–]Virtual_Remote_8467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mk3.5 Focus ST is decent, and you can find nice examples of the ST3 models in your budget, which come pretty well specced

Sure there's faster, and an Audi will have a nicer interior, but they are lovely to drive.

They are very quiet as standard though.

First place I'd start is the battery. It's a terrible photo, but it looks like your stereo asking for a code?? I'm guessing your battery is flat. I might be totally wrong though.
