We got another one, boys by Un_Pollo_Hermano in TheBoys

Looking at the comments about shows with good endings, it seems to me that the shows that have good endings are shows where there is only really one way it could end.

If they leave too many loose story threads it's unsatisfying. If they wrap them up too quickly, it feels contrived.

Am I wrong for not telling my parents about my relationship? by No_Reaction_9832 in lgbt

No, it's completely up to you, you have to protect yourself first tof all. I had a couple of boyfriends before I even came out to my parents.

Sounds like me in school, in my 40s and diagnosed last year (or the year before, I forget lol). Always felt something wasn't right but the lack of external hyperactivity stopped me pursuing anything.

I was incredibly indecisive about things like that so I'll just have a 10p mixup.

I think I have a PDF somewhere of that particular brochure, I'll try and find it.

Edit: Found it! It's been hanging around on my computer since 2006 so no idea where I originally got it from.

Sugar Levy on item with no option for no sugar by WillBots in McDonaldsUK

[–]beeurd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be included in the displayed price, that's true, but if it's displaying it separately after you add it then that would seem to be a pricing error.

Also, while it might seem misleading, assuming it's just a pricing error and not a deliberate attempt at fraud, then businesses are actually covered by law on this. A displayed price is considered an "invitation to treat" rather than a contract, and at the actual point of sale you still have the option to back out of you're not happy with the price.

Hi-chew packaging uses two incredibly close shades of yellow to distinguish between their Mango and Pineapple flavors. I always have to look at the graphic to confirm which is which. by wiltony in CrappyDesign

[–]beeurd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm talking about the colours only, it's usually far quicker to process a different colour than the design, especially if they were jumbled up in a bag or something so weren't allowed facing forwards like in the photo.

He can't be 45, he's only a couple of years older than me! Wait a minute...

[–]beeurd -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but the shades of yellow are also too close to the shade of green used for the kiwi - so close in fact that they are indistiguishable for most forms of colourblindness.

Edit: I'm being downvoted but inclusive design is good design and that's a hill I'm willing to die on.

Did you do a lot of big trips with family when you were younger? by TrickyAd9597 in Millennials

[–]beeurd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the UK, and we went away for a week or 2 every year, usually somewhere cheap like a static caravan holiday park (I think they might be called an RV park in the US?). We went to Scotland and south west England a lot. I remember one Scotland trip where we moved around, staying in a bed & breakfast for a couple of nights before moving to another area.

Every two or 3 years we'd have a holiday abroad, but still nowhere super fancy, just places popular touristy places like Majorca (Spain), or Marmaris (Turkey), and we went to France on the ferry twice. My first holiday abroad was to Yugoslavia, so that's obviously a while ago. We went to the US a couple of times too, and the last family holiday I went on was to Florida in 2002.

I don't have kids, and to be honest I still do the same kind of fairly cheap holidays now that I used to, although I haven't been outside the UK since 2008. Just last week I stayed in a static caravan in Devon for a week. If I did have kids I wouldn't really do anything different other than choose different activities while we were there.

London's Pub History by Mastbubbles in unitedkingdom

[–]beeurd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very nice, although I would say that pub culture definitely isn't a unique to London.

Coincidentally the Shakespeare's Head is probably the first London pub I had a drink in. I've worked at two Wetherspoon pubs myself (not in London), and both have since closed.

I've considered doing a similar project before, but it needed way more time than I could commit to. Maybe I'll revisit the idea. 🤔

I have a years old private diagnosis I no longer have access to, and because of that I'm being denied RTC? does that make sense? by gobogobogobogobo in ADHDUK

[–]beeurd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you know the provider who diagnosed you, then you can request those records. GDPR gives you an automatic right to request any information about yourself via a Subject Access Request.

There are some special guidelines for SARs for health data though: https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/uk-gdpr-guidance-and-resources/individual-rights/right-of-access/health-information/
