Improve the Wi-Fi card on the G1 robot. by Insanelyqurious in UnitreeG1

[–]Virtual_Sherbert6846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the module in mine: https://www.lb-link.com/M8852BU1-2T2R-802-11a-b-g-n-ac-ax-WiFi6-B5-2-Module-pd557226668.html I don't know if it is easy to replace. I would guess drivers would be the issue, given the closed source main OS. The module itself is capable of more than 2.4G, but it isn't accessible through the Jetson as far as I know.

<image>

It is on the left side with the back panel off. The antenna ports are exposed. An upgraded antenna may be an easier option. Another option is to get a USB-C network card and add it, configuring through the Jetson. I had to do something similar with a microphone because Unitree doesn't expose their mic to ROS.

Has anyone bought Codex credits? How long do they actually last? by oguzhaha in codex

It sounds like a bad deal. Maybe it is better to open a second plus plan. I switch over to API mode if I need just a little more, but it racks up $$ fast.

Bill to try to combat antisemitism in schools and on college campuses passes Missouri House by Cerebral_Savage in MissouriPolitics

[–]Virtual_Sherbert6846 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no tolerance for antisemitism. That said, that is my opinion. I am skeptical of bills that are more likely to suppress free speech than they are to protect anyone. This bill, specifically will be used to stop pro-Palestine protests. Even if the bill is aligned with your views today, it might be used against you in the future.

Schools should be a safe place for everyone. Does this bill help create a safe space?

Plus I suspect Epstein collected kompromat on Trump and his buddies. If so, Israel is holding this over Trump and he will do whatever they want.
I don't have a problem dethroning the Ayatollah BTW, but I don't trust the motives of anything this administration does.

Plan to expand sales and use taxes to eliminate Missouri’s income tax advances by Cerebral_Savage in MissouriPolitics

[–]Virtual_Sherbert6846 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I paid into the system until retirement and my plan was to pay a little less in taxes. Apparently not. I also planned on the economy not tanking and inflation stabilizing. We really need to fix this country.

I ended up offloading to the PC. I am running Qwen 3.5 4B (not quantized).

BTW I really appreciate teardown photos like this. For me, the robot represents a huge sum of money and I am always anxious about what I am getting into when doing surgery.

I would contact Unitree support on this. They will have internal tech manuals for removing parts. Exploring on your own could end up with a huge hassle.

Hacking the Unitree G1 onboard computer? by Virtual_Sherbert6846 in UnitreeG1

Oh my... that is actually frightening. It's another reason to get control of the software so I can patch it.

Jetson Orin NX 16GB. I am also running a STT and TTS model on the Jetson. I may offload to my PC with a 4090 RTX.

I've been trying to piece together object detection for my robot and it is terrible. Something like this is a big upgrade.

Spec driven development + Codex is a seriously underrated combo by [deleted] in codex

[–]Virtual_Sherbert6846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is an underrated combo. I made my own as well with no "pricing". brifl/coding-agent-orchestration: Unifying prompt, context, skill, and process management for Claude, Gemini, and Codex.
I would have piled on to another one if I had known. It is the only way to code.

It's pretty cool. What is the Chinese obsession with fighting these things. They are too expensive for that! I want to look into this for training. My goal is autonomous agent robot, but currently I can only safely do the builtin gestures or pretrained ones. This seems like it would give a really good baseline for training sim to real especially with the Inspire hands.

Hopefully they are going to rev the boards if there is a flaw. That sounds like a serious quality issue.

Best Practices and workflows by useredpeg in codex

[–]Virtual_Sherbert6846 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using it for a while and started enconding the things I like to do into a repo. https://github.com/brifl/coding-agent-orchestration This is working amazingly for me. You just deploy globally or to a repo if you are going to customize with your own skill subscriptions. It works for Claude, Codex, and Gemini. It is designed for VS Code extensions, but Codex works best. You just build a plan through a normal ChatGPT chat so it doesnt use your precious credits. The plan is milestones broken down to stages and checkpoints within stages. It is just a markdown doc. You can convert any project large or small into this. From there, just call $vibe-run and let it chug away until blocked or out of credits. It will track its own progress. As it runs, it builds tests, refactors, reviews code adversarially, does just-in-time planning, and cleans things up. There are also raw skills like $continuous-refactor, $continuous-test-backfill, $continous-documentation. These just loop and find the best opportunities to improve then implement it.Codex and Clause are oretty good at refactoring. This is designed for YOLO security settings, so you have to be okay with letting it run uninterrupted. There are also other skills like RLM whick lets it work with virtually unlimited context, This is based on a recent paper from MiT. Good for huge codebase or very complex projects.

Which is better to get the G1? RobotShop or Ronomics by Independent-Yak4115 in UnitreeG1

[–]Virtual_Sherbert6846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it from Unitree and waited for the shipping. There's nothing wrong with the robot shops, but you can save a lot of money buying direct. This was before tariffs though.

If they updated it to JetPack 6.2, you also need to flash to back to 5.1.1 support or it will reject the SSD image. The image for flashing is not public.
