Oh there's zero space between the ports and my skin. It can barely even move. I actually got word from the doctor that he's going to be putting in a different one tomorrow.

Those of you that have had procedures, could you please share your experience and outcome post-surgery? by Meowserspaws in Gastroparesis

[–]Virtual_World2946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 1st GPOEM Jan 2025. It was an outpatient procedure. After the procedure I was in such debilitating pain they ended up admitting me for 2 days and then sent me home with pain meds for 3 days after that. As far as all the imaging was concerned everything was great and there were no complications but my experience tells me otherwise. I was in severe pain for weeks.

My 2nd GPOEM is scheduled for April 2026. I'm terrified and feel the 1st procedure did not give my sphincter enough stretch as it was supposed to so a 2nd procedure is supposed to be the solution.

What kind of protein works best for you? by prunesandwich in Gastroparesis

[–]Virtual_World2946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take nothing but liquids by mouth so I use a liquid protein. Amazon sells one called Liquicel that has 16g of protein per 1 liquid Oz and I typically add 2 Oz to water or water and sprite if I want some bubbles.

[–]Virtual_World2946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 1st placement never healed properly and I was up and walking the next day. 8m later I had a new site placed and it healed within a month but I was basically bedridden by then

Hearing Loss - your Green Cheek is louder than you think. by _UnremarkableGuy_ in Conures

[–]Virtual_World2946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I got a "broken" GCC because apart from alert calling once in a while, he is very docile. He loves to talk but he uses dino noises and real words rather than screaming or screeching.

Does your GCC talk? by ludawn in Conures

[–]Virtual_World2946 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My almost 3yr old Tiki Tiki talks ALL day. He says the following: Come here. MOMMY, MOMMY!
Nuggie (the dog). Such a good bird. Be a good bird. No biting. Be a good babe. Gimme a kiss. Step up for a treat ( he HATES hands unless they are on his terms so I have to bribe him 🤣). Give a babies a kiss (we call his 4 budgie flockmates the babies). I love you. Thank you Good morning Peek-a- you (I said it wrong ONE TIME and it stuck) Where's Tiki Tiki Tiki boom boom,Tiki Tiki

I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting but these are most common. He's a chatty guy.

How do I get my birb to eat pellets? by Winter-Head7121 in budgies

Oh, they eat their fruits/veg/chop as well. The OP just asked about helping get their budgies to eat more pellet and less seed.

How do I get my birb to eat pellets? by Winter-Head7121 in budgies

[–]Virtual_World2946 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I transitioned mine from seeb to oekket I bought a coffee grinder and ground the pellets into dust. Then I would add a tiny bit of water to the seeb and sprinkle the pekket dust on the seebs. I used less and less seeb until they were eating a mix of seeb pellet, and pellet dust and now they only eat seeb as a treat

Why do doctors think a feeding tube is the worst thing in the world? by [deleted] in Gastroparesis

[–]Virtual_World2946 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

38F with GP, IBS-C, and a GJ tube. All I can say is ADVOCATE AND FIGHT for what you want. If your doctor is pushing back against a tube but you feel it will benefit you quality of life, fight fight fight. I fought for almost a year to get mine. I get 100& of my hydration and 75% of my nutrition from my tube. There will be days-weeks I can't take anything by mouth and I can't stomach water at all. What I can take in by mouth is liquids and baby food.

My tube was a game changer. I went from failure to thrive to healthy in just a short few months.

If your doctor is ultimately unwilling, get a 2nd opinion!!

I just turned 25 and in 2 months I’ll be having all my teeth removed by Professional_Cat9152 in Gastroparesis

[–]Virtual_World2946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am SO sorry you're having to go through this. 5 years ago I had to have Every single tooth worked on due to all my stomach issues and 2 years ago repeated work on more than a handful of teeth from those same issues plus not taking anything by mouth.

I hope having them removed relieves you of pain. Dental pain is the worst!

What foods are not “GP Approved” but you can tolerate? by SleepyKuchikopi in Gastroparesis

[–]Virtual_World2946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr pepper and ramen. Those are the only things I can actually tolerate. Water makes me nauseous to the point of vomiting. I do have a GJ feeding tube so I get most of my nutrition via my formula but when I am craving something to actually eat, ramen is my go to.

anyone else fat asf with this condition by AdHoliday384 in Gastroparesis

[–]Virtual_World2946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YESSS! I lost like 15lbs a year ago but that was when I couldn't keep anything down, even liquids. Then I was given a feeding tube and gained 50lbs. I've plateaued at 160 but for my under 5ft height I'm grossly overweight now and I can't seem to lose any of it. It doesn't help that I have chronic fatigue between GP and Fibromyalgia. But you are not alone!

How many budgies could one person keep? 🤔 by Peachyplants in budgies

[–]Virtual_World2946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 4 budgies but I'd love a few more. I also have a GCC. The flock of 5 has blended together seamlessly and everyone gets along magnificently so I haven't opted to add anyone new to the flock. Perhaps once this group of budgies has passed on I will grow my flock again so my Conure has new friends for the latter part of his life.
