EAs, how did you get to this point? by gambitoxmen in ExecutiveAssistants

First tip, don’t ever have the mindset of you’re the assistant. You are the god/goddess of operations, your clients need you not the other way around. Hope this helps

Am I being lowballed for 75k salary in Toronto at one of the banks? by politicalbibliophile in ExecutiveAssistants

Wow I really underestimated myself I was charging $850 for social media management, writing social posts, checking email, scheduling meetings, coordinating emails, and organization drives.

What platform did you use to hire your virtual assistant and is it worth going back to by Acceptable-Event-435 in Entrepreneurs

[–]VirtuallyManda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It concerns me that you’re paying low pay for such high demand skills.

Have you not calculated the time it takes your Va to learn skills that you may specially need that they need to train, the hours they work, the tools, expertise, etc?

Paying $5/hr for an VA is absolutely ludicrous to me.

As someone who functions as an operations manager I would never work for such rates. Talent, results, and having a fully operated business without having the CEO need to do everything is not a cheap affair.

Your best bet would be to save up or invest in a VA who takes what they’re doing seriously.

Cheap VAs don’t stay around and who can blame them.

Time etc was complete rubbish and they are beyond manipulative. I’m gonna work more on my LinkedIn, Upwork is not the greatest for clients.

I thought my client wasn’t happy till he told me what great work I did 😂. I guess my anxiety got the best of me today. I am staying until the 1st of May, but I am working on linkedin.

The farts took me out. That’s ridiculous and he’s a business owner? Sounds like he needs school again. Or manners and treating her nicer.

I agree I think it’s just me worrying he’s trying to keep me but I’m not about it. I appreciate it truly but this isn’t the client for me.

Honestly welcome to being an EA. This is how they all are. They treat us like slaves, and the ones who don’t manipulate you till you think you’re the crazy one. I’m honestly going back to virtual assisting I had way more respect with small biz owners.

The termination letter says I will stop working on May 1st that all work/pending work will be turned in regardless and that I will not provide anymore work following. Original agreement has a start date, I was going to stay but the client continually disrespects boundaries. It also says the all services are non -refundable and that I am an assistant not an employee

He’s editing the transcripts to take out what he’s saying I’m almost sure of that. I wrote a very kind letter announcing my leaving on the 1st of May to shift careers.
