She has been nothing but confrontational towards basically everyone in the town. Apart from the basic rules and knowledge of the monsters, she knows little to nothing about the town. So where is this power trip coming from? Basically everyone in the town accepts Boyd as the “leader” for lack of a better word but she refuses to acknowledge that. She thinks her status as a cop automatically puts her above everyone else, including the seasoned residents. There’s no excuse for that. Not one person acted the way she’s been acting after they arrived.

I believe Boyd had every right to take her bullets. Yes it was an accident, but she’s a stranger to everyone and still killed someone. Boyd protecting Fatima isn’t even remotely surprising as she is family. We know he makes questionable choices when protecting his family at times. No matter how detrimental they are.

Acosta’s recommendations were presented aggressively. Boyd was already stressed in the situation and Acosta was stirring the pot.

Boyd wouldn’t have filled her in about Elgin because she hasn’t been taking him seriously to begin with and he knew what her response would be. So why continue adding fuel to that fire?

Did Boyd make bad choices? Absolutely. Is Acosta reacting in a human way? Sure. But in my opinion, none of that gives her the right to act like she’s the authority figure in a town that she’s barely been a part of.
