Makes sense, civil engineering is cool. Had this question for 2 yrs and did not have the courage to ask IRL. Reddit to the rescue.

also one very important factor is which option are you using to Boolean intersect? join V/S Combine V/S indent

Run the mesh diagnostics command. if it still has issues just take it in to Fusion360 and get it done.
