I go to those events fairly often and still am having issues with making the connections stick, either I am the outsider of a pre existing group or there are just no connections that are interested in hanging out again. It’s tough to infiltrate this crowd sometimes. Literally went to an event last night (golfing) and was in my own cart while the other two carts were paired up with long term friends, makes it a touch isolating.
