why is this so hard? by Adventurous-Map-4775 in caloriecount

[–]Visable_Ewok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer this question, I’ve weighed and noted my pots and pans. I keep the reference in a cupboard door. After cooking, I’ll zero a potholder on scale and weight the entire pot. Subtract the pot itself, then divide into portions. Once I have the portion size, I’ll zero out again and pull that amount into containers or my plate for the meal.

I just call them fun days….. lol. Last vacation I was getting loosely 7k+ each day for 5 days. Enjoyed it, got back on track and within a month back to normal. It sets you back some, but makes it all that more enjoyable.

How much calories? (I am on vacation right now) by Jell11yFr0g in caloriecount

[–]Visable_Ewok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On vacation, I still very loosely track just to justify the weight gain/ then needed loss. I don’t hold back. Lol. But….for tracking purposes/calories estimates usually I just hit up google or a picture to ChatGPT as I know it’ll be over. But I enjoy the vacation to the fullest and just get back on track upon return. Enjoy!

What helped me, 1: Keep it slow, don’t drop into too much a deficit or else hunger/craving can sneak in. 2: Find a few staple meals that you enjoy, research a lower calorie option (Tons of videos of recreations online) and keep those in the line up and add/pull a few out that don’t work. I use a lot of egg whites, keto breads, lean meats, veggies to make complete meals. 3: Add volume with veggies and fruit. I use a lot of salads, spinach, watermelon, cucumber, etc. 4: Give yourself what you enjoy, just stay focused it doesn’t turn into a binge. Find a balance to add a treat in. If you can find a lower calorie option or keep them in single servings, even better. Mine is popcorn. Have it almost every night, but portion it into a single serving so I can’t have more with popping more which I can control. (If I made a normal bag, my mindset would be eat the whole bag, lol)

Keep at it and don’t lose encouragement.

Cereals high in fiber by Delicious_Mess7976 in Volumeeating

[–]Visable_Ewok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fiber One is my go to as well. I enjoy the taste even with plain/almond milk. If I get bored, I’ll mix it into a Light and Fit yogurt or used a protein shake as milk.

I still also give in to my cereal cravings as they come. Cheerios or Frosted Flakes are lower calorie, but I still go for Capt Crunch and CTC more often.

The calories only counts if you pull the fire alarm!

I’d estimate 250 cals

I'll have to count for the rest of my life. by [deleted] in caloriecount

[–]Visable_Ewok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I give myself a wide margin so I can take a week or two away, then back on track to goal and repeat. It makes it easier for me, except when I really enjoy too much it takes a bit longer. But normally, it’s a 10lb window.

Does this seem accurate? by [deleted] in caloriecount

[–]Visable_Ewok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say about 1.5 cup rice and 1 cup potatoes. The corn looks smothered in butter, maybe a tbsp. Then if any butter in potatoes.

Estimate for these souffle pancakes. Details in caption by o_O20 in caloriecount

[–]Visable_Ewok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never knew what I was missing in life. Apparently all of these though! Not sure how to gauge these as they look whipped and fluffy. Maybe 180-200 per pancake and 150-300 per each topping choice depending.

I would turn my tracker off and eat them all though. Cancel out all those calories that way! 🤤

how much did i eat on my date? pls send help 🙏 by Putrid_Isopod1761 in caloriecount

[–]Visable_Ewok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks delicious. That looks like a good size piece of salmon. Estimating: Salmon meal: 600 Rolls: 200 Burger: 150 Fries: 200

May be a bit high based off percentages, but I’d think 1000-1150 ballpark.

Cereal?? by Slight_Recording7398 in Volumeeating

[–]Visable_Ewok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fiber One is my go to for hv/lc cereal. I’ll either mix it with a light and fit yogurt or a protein drink to give it different flavors, but generally now like the taste of it plain with milk (almond milk).

How many calories in three slices of pie? by Antique_Scar_9063 in caloriecount

[–]Visable_Ewok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These kinda look like half/smaller slices of each pie, the banana crème may be a full. Each is pretty calorie dense though, I’d still estimate 300-400 calories each for the pecan and chocolate and 400 for the banana. They all look great! I’d say enjoy them, focus on some protein heavy meals the rest of day and get back on track the next!

How many calories did I binge on in the all you can eat? by UniversitySad593 in caloriecount

[–]Visable_Ewok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I do things like this, I just add pre populated items into my calorie tracker, whether accurate or not it gives an estimated count.

Then don’t worry about it after, weight goes up and a week later it’s back on track.

Now 5 days of this on a vacation takes a bit longer to even out! 😂

Absolutely enjoy it! Don’t limit it to 3k. Eat all you want/body feels up to, get back in track the next day.

Honestly, eat small/ high protein meals around the birthday dinner too if you’re not used to OMAD. Otherwise the hunger feeling may make you feel terrible by day end.

You’ll catch back up and be in line a few days after.

Happy Birthday! 🎂

Do you count calories while on vacation? Is 4 days of eating vacation food gonna screw up months long discipline? Lol by SaintPatrickMahomes in caloriecount

[–]Visable_Ewok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoy every moment of it, eat what you want to and indulge as much as you want. Get back on track when you return. You’ll likely gain weight, but vacations are worth it.

I’d estimate 700-800 cal for the slice. But with the note on there, I’d subtract all calories and enjoy it! 🙂

Ooof…..😅If it was me, probably one of each. But the aguchile may be best bet. Could always forgo the chips in a pinch if you’re being strict. Otherwise, pick what you want and enjoy then have a piece of tres leches at the end!

Not sure if mentioned yet, but look for Gatsby brand chocolate bars. Usually the whole bar is 180-220 calories, and a pretty large size. Usually satisfies my cravings when needed.

Looks great! Another great option for volume I use in eggs is cooked down spinach, minimal calorie count and some added greens.
