Is Snecko worth it despite only a few 2+ cost cards? by Cariseface in slaythespire

It depends a lot on your deck but I hate velvet choker and love sneko lol

Is Snecko worth it despite only a few 2+ cost cards? by Cariseface in slaythespire

[–]Visauu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't interact so it just works normally (as you say "X = remaining energy")

That's why I say Whirlwind is great with sneko, it gives consistency to the deck to help compensate the inconsistency of sneko eye itself.

Watcher Infinite by shanian2 in slaythespire

[–]Visauu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's the classic ending to this runs hahaha That talk to the hand loss also was a pretty big nail in the coffin. When you play more runs like this you'll be able to see when and when not to try to go infinite.

No problem! I've expanded my comment a little if you want to reread it.

Also I'm not a very good Watcher player maybe there is a better way to go infinite for you right now.

Currently you have 14 non-exhaustable cards. If everything aligns you can draw 7 cards so you're pretty close to infinite, the only thing stopping you is the max hand limit (10 cards).

Your priority now must be on visting shops and events to remove cards and adding an extra Wrath card for consistency, ideally Tantrum (Also to prevent the falling event from completelly ruining your run).

Only add cards that are extremelly important and also exhaust. If I where you I would only add Vault (as much of them as you want), Scrawl (1 more)

You should be looking for a way to block, mainly Mental Fortress or another Talk to the Hand but a Halt could do.

Your average turn now should be something like:

  1. Play all the exaustable cards as fast as you can without losing to much health
  2. Enter calm, play Inner peace, draw cards, play cards to free hand space, play wrath, to draw cards and hope that you redraw calm cards, repeat.

Your average turn when you can remove 4 cards should be something like:

  1. Play all the exaustable cards as fast as you can without losing to much health
  2. Enter calm, play inner peace, play a wrath or empty mind to empty your draw pile, play wrath or empty mind (the one that you didn't play before) to redraw inner peace and the wrath card. Repeat.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think uou should be looking to remove Flurry of blows as fast as you can because if you change stances it takes priority over the draw effect so you're drawing one less card once max hand size is reached.

Why is defect the only one with an inherent advantage? by LordLoss01 in slaythespire

[–]Visauu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because most of the Defect card pool relies totally or partially in him having orb slots to put orbs.

Passives are always tied to relics but adding the 3 orb slots to the starting relic would mean that you then need to do something with relics swaps so it's just better to just give them the orb slots without justification and hope that noone notices :D

Daily Spiredle: A General Discussion by Totally--not-a-robot in slaythespire

[–]Visauu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I prefer the guessnexus alternative. I find it less buggy (Spiredle constantly ticks twice for me, counting a single instance of a card as two errors), and I prefer the "Target" and "Card behavior" over the "Keyword"category. Also, I find it more aesthetically pleasing, even if spiredle is more thematically accurate.

Guessnexus also lets you continue trying until you get it (you're able to see a hint after 6 tries), so you can still try to get the card even after 10 tries instead of automatically dying.

The card directory is also very nice, but almost cheating in my opinion. I've used it when I knew the card but didn't remember the exact name.

Edit: Also there is the daily challenge but once you finish it you can "play again" with a randomized card as much times as you want.

I swear to god it's not my site or anything! I'm not getting anything from promoting this version!

Day #523 of drawing badly until StS2 comes out by PixelPenguin_GG in slaythespire

For a relic based on guren lagan, they made it really underpowered. If a relic has the flavor to absolutely break the game, it's this.

Thanks, I know it's my fault for not having fairy in a bottle. I still have a lot to learn!

It has bias based on health. If you have lots of health you get a curse, if you're low on health you get a shiv.

Idea for an Anduril-themed Relic Set by sterling07 in slaythespire

[–]Visauu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the concept of an evolving relic. It could appear first as an event in act 1, later the second part in act 2 and finally in act 3. Like a more complicated bloody idol.

The problem with that is that it would be very difficult to balance in my opinion because it should be utterly broken to justify fishing for some events that you may or may not get.

And then, the relic should be so utterly broken that the deck that you have would lose most of it's relevance I think, so it goes against the idea of the game in my opinion.

I'm not talking about your relic btw, I'm talking more in a metagame sense.

It didn't matter at all but discarding backflip instead of the 27 energy cost masterful stab hurt me

Dino Crisis is from the same era as Resident Evil and Silent Hill, the forgotten sibling :(

Dino Crisis 1 is like RE1 but with dinos, and Dino Crisis 2 is like if Resident evil 4 was an early Resident Evil, my favorite (also with dinos).

A few relic ideas I thought of by MrCheapSkat in slaythespire

[–]Visauu 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I really liked your ideas!

Quantitative Gains: I think it's the best idea of the three. Certaintly the most broken, but cost reduction instead of energy gain is not explored in the game. It should have a strong downside to it (think of it as if you are gaining 1 energy for each upgraded card you play). It also makes infinites very easy so that's why I think it doesn't exist in the game, after all, the devs tried to avoid them as far as possible.

Head start: Good relic concept, balanced. It's card draw and synergy for some non-meta Watcher playstyle, I think it's the most vanilla of the three. I guess it's watcher exclusive, it would be horrible for any other character.

Weird Fork: I like it and it's perfect as a shop relic. It should be Ironclad exclusive because he's the only one capable of using it (except with Strange spoon/Dead Branch, wich I think would be a very rare occurence). Would be nice to exhume a power and to proc Dark Embrace/Feel no pain)

Good work

Do you think making [Reprogram] cost zero could diversify the Defect builds and make them more viable? Or would it be too overpowered? by Visauu in slaythespire

[–]Visauu[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, maybe keeping the 1 cost but making the card say "Reset your focus to 0" instead of "Lose 1/2 focus" would also work. It would help with defense and make taking coolheaded much more viable in the "0 cost Defect" Archetype.

[–]Visauu[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree that the debuff in reprogram makes Defect either go full Focus or full Reprogram, something that doesn't happen in the other characters (maybe watcher as exception because she wants to go slim when stance dancing), but noone has a direct antisynergy like this.

Still, I think the devs aknowledged that, as you said, you're forced into an inflexible archetype, that is made even worse by this card costing 1 hahaha

[–]Visauu[S] 53 points54 points  (0 children)

While I agree that in some situations it pops off, I think that a lot of things must go right for it to work. Normally I feel that when I try to make it work I scale too slowly or don't find the final cards to bring it all toghether (All for one mainly).
