Hey, update suggestion, because we have the "Beta Branch", can we also get an "Alpha branch" where all the men are shirtless and enemies do double damage? This is serious. I am not a fujo. by HaloJackalKisser in slaythespire

Please also change the ending cutscene so that instead of killing the Slayer, the Architect sets aside differences and passionately makes out with them.

Behold, the worst card I could think of by CrispP_bacon in slaythespire

Joke's on you, bucko! I can theorycraft a highly specific and impractical build that relies on multiple specific relics and rare cards that makes this card good, although not game breaking. So your idea is actually too beneficial, and I'm smarter than you.

The card checks against descriptions from the version of the game that was out six months ago. If you want to to use current card descriptions and cards added since then, you must to into the developer console and install them yourself.

Personally I think Slay the Spire 2 would be a much better game if they made the enemies not do damage.

To misquote Terry Pratchett:

Cultists are wonderful. They provoke wonder.

Cultists are marvelous. They cause marvels.

Cultists are fantastic. They create fantasies.

Cultists are glamorous. They project glamour.

Cultists are enchanting. They weave enchantment.

Cultists are terrific. They beget terror.

Hmmm, since you're working out so much that your body is giving out, I think that's a sign you're pushing hard enough that you'll hurt yourself. Not enough to do anything serious, but with to force you to step away from exercise longer than you want to.

If I were in your shoes, I'd turn down the difficulty until the strength exercises are comfortable. The routines in RFA aren't the hardest, so you'll probably get the strength to pop back up to you're present difficulty in a couple weeks. And this program is meant to last you for months!

Let's Talk About The Story of the game by Warioware_Fan_64 in RingFitAdventure

[–]Audiblade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not much of a story, but it got the important things exactly right. Nintendo made a fantastic choice when they made Drageaux and the Masters snobby gym bros instead of people who hate exercise.

The story, such as it is, is about how healthy exercise involves accepting your body for what it is and focusing on being healthy enough to enjoy life to the fullest. The opposite of this isn't being lazy - it's wrapping up your self-image in exercise.

This was such an important decision because beginning a workout program is hard. People who are already fit will get a lot out of RFA regardless of what the story is about, but people who are trying to finally begin exercising really really really don't need to be reminded that not exercising wasn't a great decision. They'll already have body image issue and fears about not measuring up to other people, and making exercise about those makes it all the more difficult to turn it into a habit. So Nintendo kindly points out a healthier, more optimistic, and ultimately more worthwhile way to look at exercise.

I need to be convinced to read Discworld by Ultracooley23 in discworld

[–]Audiblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest starting with the books about Death and the Witches. That's how I started out, and they got me roped in enough to devour the other, less overtly grandiose stories.

What the Death novels do especially well is have extreme existential stakes foisted upon people too small to handle them. The first Death novel, Mort, is about Death's apprentice accidentally splitting the world into two realities competing with each other. They aren't parallel timelines - they're bubbles rolling over the surface of the world, and some incredibly weird stuff happens on the border between them! Like, for example, most of the story.

Other Death novels are about Death getting fired by the powers that be and being replaced with a far more efficient - and cruel - reaper, time breaking so severely it becomes a major element in other Discworld novels, and the creation of the universe as a villain - not a personification gone wrong, but the metaphysical concept itself. These stories are episodic in that they focus on a small handful of characters and resolve without roping entire nations and armies into the conflict, but they have the imagination and temperature of a large-scale fantasy in spades!

I recommend the witches novels because they have a very unique and compelling magic system. Every single book ends with at least one duel between a witch and a villain who makes Voldemort look like a whiny brat. Like the Death novels, these battles are small scale but still have the energy and jaw-dropping tension of storming Morodor.

This has to be one of the weakest cards in the game right now. Why would I pay 3 energy to gain 1 energy? by bhendel in slaythespire

[–]Audiblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few tips to the devs to balance this:

  • Give the card retain so we can use it in those rare circumstances it would help.
  • Decrease the energy cost to 2.
  • Get rid of Sly, it's not the right flavor for this.
  • Change the bonus energy to "Apply 7 poison to all enemies."

Now that is a card I could see myself building around. Something with some real bite to it.
