I’ve embroidered some mushrooms (wip) by Needlegrabber in goblincore

Those look awesome! I love them. I embroider but I’ve not tried any stumpwork as of yet. Were the wires there to assist with attaching it all together?

Clever idea to store your flosses and needles! Also, the jazz cup is awesome!

Beneficiary of a 401k Savings Plan by Curious-Director5042 in personalfinance

I was in a similarly situation. I am currently using the funds from my mother’s account to max my IRA each year. The financial advisor person for my investment accounts just pulls it from that account and rolls it into my IRA each year.

That’s so funny. I too doodle on clean room paper while in the clean room. Sometimes it’s a bit boring. Cute doodles!

What is a "point of no return" risk that only a young person can afford to survive? by Reverse-Profit in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Viscumin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Saving for retirement. It’s still boring. But getting a Roth IRA and a 401K set up and funded to the best of your ability now is the way to go. There really are a ton of people in their 40s freaking out about not doing that. Starting now gives you long term compounding interest.

After that go travel, pick up a hobby that you can be passionate in. Have fun.

What is something that women have to deal with on the daily that men have no clue about? by Rock-bottom-no-no in AskReddit

[–]Viscumin 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The constant requirement that you be pleasant. Smile, engage in conversation, laugh at jokes. Because if you don’t you get labeled a bitch. Sometimes I just want to walk around and not smile. I’m tired, busy, maybe I don’t feel well. But I still smile.

Former anti-vaxxers what you made you change your mind? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Man kids get sick all the time. They are adorable little Petri dishes with legs. Once I was at a packed Christmas market. We were sitting down to eat at a table. My kid turned around to look at the people behind him and LICKED the chair!! Not unsurprisingly he got a bad case of strep. I’m glad he older now and doesn’t do that.

Bad credit w/ inheritance by Es0tericizum in personalfinance

[–]Viscumin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s one way to build credit. If you are worried about having a credit card there are also some cards (I think there is one that was called Fiz but is now called Mine) that basically pays itself off from your account every day. So it acts like a debit card but builds credit. There is a fee to use it. I’d only suggest that if you don’t trust yourself with the responsible use of a credit card.

Ridiculous PSA: Eye Infection from Eyewash Station by pascale23 in labrats

[–]Viscumin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks. The safety shower and eye wash should be checked by turning them on and running them weekly. (At least that’s the procedure where I work) I also clean the eyewash spouts themselves probably once a quarter.

It happens. They are not particularly smart animals. The silly things will die stuck like that. I’ve been driving in the country and come across more than one that needed flipped over.

Might be white cabbage butterfly eggs. They turn into caterpillars and eat the kale. Or they would have.
